Lol you think Sun was the underdog against Maru?

Yes. Maru is very, very good.

So is Sun. Except Sun had won tournaments before. I'm not saying Maru is bad, but he was very much the underdog.

It's easy to go "oh he won I guess he wasn't the underdog" but that's such terrible logic.

Nice job on thinking up shit logic and then putting it in my mouth.

Sorry I find it hard to argue with fanboys who suddenly think Maru is the best player on the planet just because he hard-countered a stubborn Bogus... zzz

He's good, but he's not as good as you're making him out to be. Sun was by far the favorite going into it.

Maru has been in GSL since very early, and was the youngest player in GSL. He has had good results for a long time. I would always pick a player like that over somebody newer to the game.

Now you call me a fanboy? Jesus you're bad at debating, or whatever you call it.

Sun was an A teamer in Proleague for a long time too you know. Plus, you know, he was winning titles one year ago...

Exactly.

It's hard to bring a decent argument when you don't know what you're talking about.... "oh but Maru is so young etc etc" yeah while Maru was busy struggling to survive in Code S ro32, FlaSh and Life were winning the most prestigious championships when they were his age.

I think it is fairly undisputed that Rain was the favorite. He won the previous OSL, has had more success in WCS/GSL than Maru (despite the shorter tenure) and provided constant results throughout Proleague which was the hardest competition in SC2. I believe he finished second in wins behind Flash? or maybe third behind Innovation as well.

I was rooting for Maru, but I knew he was the underdog.

I was looking for it, but didnt see it. Grubby had one but I dont think duckdeok did.

I stopped following BW shortly after SC2 came out, but didn't Sun win the rookie award in one of the last seasons? Maybe even the hybrid season? Or am I mixing him up with another toss?

Can't remember which season it was but you are correct.

Ah well I'm usually going to pick the old-time SC2 player over the newer one as Maru showed vs. Innovation the other day. The old-timers have more tricks up their sleeve that the newer guys haven't seen as much of. Provided the old-timer isn't slumping/injured.

Yeah. Like maybe pigmanbear got too eager in his fanboyness and misunderstood. Maru's achievement this season of OSL is absolutely incredible and praise-worthy. But let's not pretend he was some god-tier Terran all along...

Maru is one year older, and he won OSL (just like FlaSh) which nowadays is equivalent to the GSL (which Life won)

Anyway the argument was that Maru was not the underdog against Sun, not that he's a bad player etc.

Well, he did kill alot of fan favorites in most anti-fun way possible (except for that hold), he is rather young and he is on team MVP.
EDIT: I do like Sniper.

Yeah. Like maybe pigmanbear got too eager in his fanboyness and misunderstood. Maru's achievement this season of OSL is absolutely incredible and praise-worthy. But let's not pretend he was some god-tier Terran all along...

Go ahead and keep calling me a fanboy. The only players I'm a fanboy of are MKP, ForGG, and WannaBeCool, so suck it.

Let me know when you can conjure some sort of factually-accurate argument to back up your claims. And no I will not suck it.

Ah well I'm usually going to pick the old-time SC2 player over the newer one as Maru showed vs. Innovation the other day. The old-timers have more tricks up their sleeve that the newer guys haven't seen as much of. Provided the old-timer isn't slumping/injured.

If this was still WoL, I would agree but I think HotS changed it up just enough to make it fairly level.
