Phoenix/colossus is what you do against terran and that takes a lot of APM since you want to be controlling your phoenixes the entire time without missing a beat. Controlling fights is also more stressful since you have one more spellcaster that's dead supply if you don't use it well
Coincidentally, this is also a nightmare for Terran to play against if they fall behind. Phoenix shut down drops, you have no medivac healing non-clumped units, and you have to make the hard choice of building Medivacs for army sustain or Vikings to kill Colossus.
