Montecristo is a great version of the former - usually, proper "radio" voices are NOT nasally (since a nasally voice would usually be the opposite of the very clear radio voice) - they are, however, very forceful and often overly precise, and you can tell that there's a kind of "fakeness" to the emotion generated (maybe because they lack a certain range, always being forceful, or maybe because the overly polished tones). Nasally voices, on the other hand, are just nasally sounding voices, and a separate issue. It's subjective to the extent in which a person might tolerate or prefer such a voice, but I think we can also agree that there are those are objective qualities of a voice. It's also not really an American issue - I consider TB to be an English version of the radio broadcast voice. You do raise a good point, I think it's probably a cultural difference in terms of how sportscasting in general is approached. There are certain standards in the US and over in the UK that are noticeably different, but they are somewhat difficult to isolate. I am rather surprised that Crank is trying this again, ballsy mindgames | ||
