He'd have been better off killing the third base and going to the late game. Stardust would have equal bases, and be ahead on upgrades. Or he should have gone earlier. This is basically a later soul push with 2/1 upgrades.

Jaedong figured out how to hold that modified 2-1 Stardust push! Vipers plus Hydras. Stardust waited too long and hesitated which allowed time for Vipers to come out. I am not sure Jaedong would have held if Stardust had attacked immediately.

I suppose he didn't want to get his army trapped there. Jd could have set up a perfect arc there if he overcommitted there; what he should have done, is sent a handful of zealots there and position his army near the natural entrance.
