extended series in leenock's case is weird because it actually worked in the favor of the player from the lower bracket. naniwa had a window in which he could win 2-0 but once he failed that it was just a normal bo7 series.

more reason why extended series makes perfect sense.

No this is more reason why is makes no sense.

Makes me sad for our community to see people hate on Naniwa.

To be fair, there might be a few reasons to dislike Naniwa.

There are, but I do really respect him because he's been a top foreigner since the start of SC2. There's been a huge shift as the first wave of top foreigners have dropped away while there has been a second wave. Naniwa has been right at the top for a long long time.

to be fair WCS NA S1 was a bit of a joke...

Why? It was stronger than EU...

No....

Ummm yes. Actually yes. Anyone from the final 8 in NA could've won EU.

Anyone from EU top 8 could have won NA.

lmao

Of course they could have. Who could NEVER have woin NA? So ridiculous.

Babyknight.

but i agree with you. WCS EU's weakest players were much stronger than WCS NA's weakest players. WCS EU's strongest players were clearly stronger than WCS NA's strongest players (at the very least the finalists). but winning WCS NA Season 1 is still a solid achievement.

If Moonglade could have won WCS EU then of COURSE BK could have won WCS America. Also just realised it isn't NA we should stop calling it that.

This a million times over. We really need to get away from calling them regions and just call them prelims.

This is a good plan, or just call them conferences and give the non-sense names like East, West, North and South. Or just name them for the city the league takes place in. Then at least it makes sense because the players travel there.

Naniwa pausing the game saying he can hear the casters. Is he still BM, haters? He might say things sometimes, but he is genuinely concerned with the sanctity of the game.

PLEASE PLEASE Tell me MLG haven't still got the extended series rule. I may cry.

Well you may cry then because they did return the rule.. :/

Someone try and explain to me the benefit of this. It's horrible. Always.

It's there to avoid people being eliminated by someone they have a positive record against.

For example, if Polt meets Naniwa again without extended series and loses 2-1, he is eliminated (or sent to the LB) despite being 3-2 against Naniwa.

Imagine if they used that in a GSL group. Such a shit rule.

Double Elimination works a little differently from the GSL format

Which obviously makes WCS AM a joke, as you said.

??

Well I don't see any reason to deny them from having MORE noise than the default. If naniwa asked for less noise so he could hear the casters and crowd, then I suspect the response would be different.
