how gracious of polt to come over and want to shake hands after knocking naniwa out of the tournament and going to the finals.

i really find it interesting how people judge others based on these preconceptions they have.

if anything naniwa standing up for what he believes in (why shake the hand of someone you think is a dick) shows self confidence and integrity, in my opinion

lots of people would shake hands regardless of what they actually think, just to look better to everyone. I really respect that naniwa cares more about being true to himself than how he looks to other people.

In theory you're right, in practice they were both just joking around, which 90% of the posters here don't seem to realize for whatever reason..

Not staged per se, but I definitely think neither of them was serious at all.... they were just playing around like NaNiwa with DongRaeGu at Providence..

I can never tell with Naniwa, I think he's joking and then he calls Polt a bitch. I'm not sure if he's actually a dick or just extremely socially awkward.

Ah yes, if you slow down the video at around the 38 second mark, and go frame-by-frame, you can see Naniwa telling Polt that he sincerely wished Polt the best of luck, and asked Polt to extend his hand for a handshake again so that Naniwa may cause riots on TL and Reddit by jokingly ignoring it.

And then you see Polt inquiring "But won't that tarnish your image?" To which Naniwa replied "Nah, it's no big deal." And then Polt says, "Okay sure, no problem, friend. Let's grab a drink after this is over." And then Naniwa agreed, saying, "Sure, but I'm buying!"

And then he grabbed the duct tape. Case closed.
