Yes working on it :>
edit: if a mod reads this, change the title to "[SPL] EG-TL vs Samsung KHAN R6"
lol egtl always heart because they're the foreign owned team. Doesn't matter if they don't work as hard as the KeSPA teams. Anyways, this is who one fan thinks will win:

EG-TL have a lot of firsts this round. First time winning more than 2 matches in a row (current streak: 4 wins), first win for zenio since april (R4), first time out of last place since R3 (currently in 6th place...!!!), first place in R6.
Now if they win this match they will have 4 wins in R6, guaranteeing them the first round where they win more than they lose (they went 3-4 in every round except R3 where they went 1-6.)

Calling EG-TL a foreign team makes the term "foreign team" largely meaningless.

HerO isn't invincible, especially not in a Bo1. I wouldn't be surprised if Roro or Jangbi managed to beat him.

HerO vs TurN (0:0) Whirlwind HerO spawns in the 7 o'clock position TurN spawns in the 11 o'clock position TurN goes 1 rax FE HerO goes 1 gate FE shortly after TurN makes third CC at 4:45 HerO adds 2 gates and a robo and looks to pressure TurN MSC baits marines away from the front 7-8 stalkers and 2 sentries break the bunker and is killing a ton of SCVS Soon all marines fall as well TurN GGs!

I'm going to disagree with the casters on this one. I think it was genius sending out Roro because of the 100% terran win rate. Who is EG-TL most likely going to send out on a map with 100% Terran wins? A terran. Who is the only option they can send out with Taeja in Europe? Alive. Roro is heavily favored over someone of alive's level and it should be a win for khan

I think Roro is favoured against anyone EG-TL can feasibly send out bar Hero.

Kappa, haha sorry was having twitch chat withdrawals...but man Roro sticking to roach against terran this long gave alive such an easy game :/
aLive vs RorO (1:0) Neo Planet S aLive spawns in the 1 o'clock position RorO spawns in the 7 o'clock position RorO goes for a 15 hatch aLive goes for a 15 CC at the ramp and throws a barracks down as well RorO goes gas before pool, starts metabollic boost around 4:30 aLive is going for hellbat drops, adding an early armory RorO makes his third around 6:20 and makes a roach warren aLive makes a bunch of hellbats and starts stim RorO is looking to pressure and is making a ton of roaches/lings and throws down a baneling nest as well First hellbat drop is completely denied by RorO RorO hits the frontgate with roaches and banes and kills 10 scvs, but aLive holds aLive goes for more hellbat drops and kills 11 drones RorO starts 1/1 for ranged attacks and goes into lair aLive starting 1/1 as well and is going for marine marauder + mines and is taking his third RorO is at 150 supply to aLive's 118. aLive starts 2/2 RorO massing roaches and hitting the natural of aLive again but is cleaned up easily RorO takes the 4 o'clock expansion and is being pressured by aLive RorO starts +1 melee +2 carapace and overlord speed, aLive starting bvehicle plating and 3/3 Huge fight and RorO gets some good bane hits but RorO has to back off again RorO kills a bunch of scvs with banes at aLive's third and goes into infestor and hive tech, aLive starts +3 attack RorO is being pressured and aLive is trading very well and picks off RorO's third aLive 124 supply to RorO 102, aLive is dropping everywhere and starts +3 armor, RorO starts +2 melee aLive overruns RorO and kills a ton of drones, RorO is at 31 supply aLive takes game 2!
Roro seriously tilted after his roach bane didn't win him the game. I felt he was ok after the attack, go into ling bane mutas and he had a fighting chance.

Well I just feel silly now
I agreed with you before the game until roro decides to sit on roaches for 15 mins. add banelings when it's too late. Not even sure what his upgrades were. And no hydras T.T why!!!! Roro feeling the pressure of needing a win today for any shot at playoffs
EG-TL is basically my fav basketball team: TOronto Raptors for me.
1) They go into the season with tons of hype and why they're going to succeed 2) They start off the gate with a bang and everyones like "OMG WE'RE GONNA BE SO GOOD" 3) Then we get crushed into pieces by the top teams but we manage to beat down a top team now and then to give a glimmer of hope. 4) Then we acquire a player or two, we hype them up tremendously, they make immediate dividends and we're like "OMG WE'RE TURNING A CORNER! WE'RE SO AWESOME!" 5) They go back down-to-earth and reveal themselves as mediocre players +We go back to sucking 6) Then we go on a massive losing streak. 7) Then when we're out of the playoff contention, we start winning every non-relevant game as if it matters 8) Glimmer of hope and they go into the next season with tons of hype and why they're going to succeed 9) Rinse and Repeat.

Great game by Alive, he just smacked down the dreaded roach bust then beat Roro in a macro game! Remember the darkest days of losing what, 17 games in a row or something stupid in R3? Now look where they are, it's hard to believe.

1. They win a lot
I would say SKT T1..in terms of baseball comparisons is basically the New York Yankees. insanely rich team. Legendary/HoF players who's associated with the team. Almost unmatched accomplishments. Has a pretty damn good system where they're able to grab some good prospects (Cano/Cabrera/Gardiner) And you know..if that fails...they just buy out every player with big fat contracts and buy their way to a championship. And also...obnoxious fans.. jokes jokes on the last part :p

as badly as zenio got blindsided by that old school 2port banshee, he did a pretty decent job of coming back and damaging Kops economy while trying to hold off the big mech army. A lot of other players would have just straight up died to the banshees but he hung on. props
Zenio vs Kop (2:0) Bel'Shir Vestige Zenio spawns in the 11 o'clock position Kop spawns in the 5 o'clock position Kop goes for a 14 CC Zenio goes for a 15 hatch 16 pool ~18 gas Kop makes a barracks and takes his first gas Zenio starts ling speed, Kop goes factory and proxies 2 starports on the 4 o'clock position RorO takes his third and a roach warren, Kop adds tech labs on the starports, starts 2 banshees and begins cloak Zenio starting +1 melee +1 carapace and makes a baneling nest, Kop makes a third and 4 banshees moving into the main Zenio starts lair, banshees snipe the queen and a bunch of drones and kills the lair Kop adds engineering bay and 2 armories, 103 supply for Kop to 85 for Zenio Banshees flying around picking stuff off, Kop goes into mech and starts +1/+1 for mech Zenio makes a spire and starts +2 melee +2 carapace Banshees snipe the third, mutas are out and clean up the banshees Mutas fly into Kops main, poking around, Kop's hellions pressure the 4th base of Kop but he botches and loses them all Kop 162 supply to 105 from Zenio, Kop starts +2/+2 and moves out with a bunch of tanks, thors and hellbats Zenio starts +1 ranged attacks and an infestation pit and kills Kop's third with mutas Zenio's natural is destroyed and moves into the main, Zenio magic boxes and takes out all the thors and vikings Kop snipes the third with tanks Zenio GGs!
Kop didn't even play well. With 2 port proxy cloak banshees, he should have gone for the workers in not just 1 base I think. He could have taken out the natural perhaps as well.
But Zenio was so grossly underprepared it didn't matter.

I disagree! THe Raptors are part of their own elite club of incompotent teams. Name me one professional sports team in the past 19 years who has won less playoff series than the Raptors (1...yes..a grand total of 1...the past 19..and its only past 19 years..because they only have been existing for 19 years)...and a professional sports team who hasn't made the playoffs since 2008. :<...

Hell, the raven is even slower than the science vessel (2.5 in SC2, vessel had worker speed so 2.8125) and the extra beefiness would help it survability (imagine ravens flying into a base to plant a heat seeker missile into a mineral line).

once the spire finished, I expected 12 mutas right away (he had 1200/1200) as opposed to 14 hydras 5 corruptors and +range. I guess he never saw the void rays until it was too late.

So usually during the time the matches occur (if it occurs in the IParkMall area), there's a hallway out on the rooftop to the only working elevator. The moment the fangirls from the main fan club enter that hallway after the game, they start saying stuff like "man, if the (opposing player) won, I bet they'd be throwing rice at him while he walks" (i.e. worshipping him) or "god I hate those fucking girls, they're so annoying and loud" and "those girls are retarded"...among the softer phrases. Coach Park's secret plan for next season: tell everybody on EG-TL that they're disqualified for the playoffs but KeSPA will send ninjas to kill them and their families if they don't play the matches.

Commentators are confusing me, seemed like they acted like revival was ahead after his baneling attacks...umm that actually needed to do more damage and thus it put revival behind. If reality didn't take his advantage in army and attack, then yes revival could have gotten back in do to econ, but we knew reality was going to attack with that sort of advantage...
Revival vs Reality (3:1) New Fighting Spirit Revival spawns in the 5 o'clock position Reality spawns in the 11 o'clock position Revival 15 hatch, Reality 15 cc in main, Revival takes his gas and pool after Reality getting his gas and Revival takes a quick ling speed, Reality going for factory and reactor on the rax Armory + Starport down for Reality, Revival takes his third and makes a baneling nest Revival makes a ton of lings and is makes 16 banelings out in the field, 4 hellions and a 2 hellbat drop out of position, stim started Revival breaks the front and kills a ton of scvs with banes but Reality holds Revival in the supply deficit but has a superior economy, Reality moves out with a bunch of medivacs, hellbats/hellions and marine/marauders and hits the third The third of Revival gets cleaned up, Reality makes a third CC, Reality kills the natural of Revival Revival taps out and the score is now 3-2!
On June 23 2013 14:04 Highcounsel wrote: Commentators are confusing me, seemed like they acted like revival was ahead after his baneling attacks...umm that actually needed to do more damage and it put revival behind.
Revival wasn't mining on his 3rd due to bane ling investment. And there was a hellbat drop at his main, disrupting his mining, if not killing his drones. So yeah, Reality losing all the SCVs on his 2nd wasn't a bad trade, as they were stuck on mining one base each.

So most likely going to Ace match now, jangbi is pretty good..lol Well I guess JYP is one of those guys that all of the sudden can look perfect, but that rarely happens...
Well, I don't even play HoTS at all, yet it was kind of obvious Reality was ahead after the baneling attack.
Anyway, I watch the Korean caster video for SPL all the time, anyway. It's better to hear pumped up commentary even if I don't understand a thing, than poor English commentary. Sorry, SNM and Whiplash, just maximising my viewership experience!

This is something I've been noticing with a lot of casters. They keep doing play-by-play commentary all the time and don't look at the bigger picture.
Did JYP just not look and decided to just go with it regardless?
also Jangbi had to have a pretty good idea because his observer saw the edge of the stalkers and saw them back off. He may not know about the warp prism but he probably had a good idea that the stalkers were coming into the main
I don't feel like 1-base blink is a viable build anymore in HotS PvP unless it is specifically reacting to something. FE really shuts it down with the mothership core.
JYP vs JangBi (3:2) Akilon Wastes JYP spawns in the 11 o'clock position JangBi spawns in the 5 o'clock position Both open standard gateway and double gas JYP going twilight council, JangBi expands and makes a robo JYP going blink and adds 2 more gates, JangBi has to defend, tries to get out an immortal JangBi manages to sneak into JYP's main and makes a pylon, warps in one zealot, a few worker die JYP goes for a robo close to JangBi's third, he makes a warp prism and blinks into the main with sentries in the WP but JangBi doesn't fall for it JangBi throws down a robotics bay, 71 supply for JangBi to 54 for JYP JYP takes his natural at the 11 minute mark, JangBi starts colossus production, more gates for JangBi, 2 stargate for JYP JangBi moves out, nearly double the supply of JYP JangBi has too much and JYP taps out. The score is 3-3 and we're going into an Ace Match!
Jangbi is such an amazing player, although JYP made him look that much better including bad luck/amazing star sense by jangbi. I can't wait to see if Jangbi will become Toss's hope for winning some tourneys :D
I think Jangbi was just hedging at his ramp. He'd scouted the blink build with those zeals (I think) and was hedging at his ramp for the blink attack. It was just coincidental timing that he moved back as JYP was going in.
Just off topic. but the whole Dong talk reminds me of the blue jays pitching lineup this weekend. 1st Pitcher: Dickey 2nd Pitcher: Wang 3rd Pitcher Johnson
I don't want Khan to make it to the playoffs (because their team is too flimsy right now), but at the same time, I don't want them to lose to EG-TL. Please win, Khan!!!
Jangbi will just push with a Stardust-esque mass sentry army, and force a base race before eliminating Jaedong by killing his last building. Calling it now!
I think Hero would have been the smart choice just because I just couldn't imagine Khan sending out anyone but Jangbi especially after Roro's performance earlier and Dong cannot beat Toss it seems

Why would you ever send JD as the ace here? You know Khan is going to send Jangbi, because Roro would be more vulnerable in a ZvZ against JD than Jangbi would be in a PvP against Hero, while Hero would be a tough out for Roro and Jangbi would obviously be heavily favored against JD.

its not a matter of how well michael jordan does with the wizards. the question is, if you had him on ur team, you are a fool to bench him just because of name value alone.

HerO has a trainwreck of nerve issue JD has played 5000 ace matches before
Hero has won several major tournaments, each of which is about a hundred times more stressful than an ace match in Proleague after your team has already been eliminated.
Jaedong vs JangBi (3:3) Newkirk Redevelopment Precint Jaedong spawns in the 7 o'clock position JangBi spawns in the 5 o'clock position JangBi going for a very early scout, Jaedong takes a 14 pool, JangBi goes for a 15 nexus Hatch at the natural for JD, forge and gate for JB, two gas for JangBi Third and gas for Jaedong, stalker and msc for JangBi, ling speed for Jaedong JangBi goes for a quick third, Jaedong looks to pressure and is making a bunch of lings Lair and evo for JD, more gates and +1 attack for JangBi +1 ranged, hydra den and infestation pit for JD, blink for JangBi and more gates Swarm hosts + hydras for Jaedong, +2 attack for JangBi and throws down 2 robos +2 ranged attack and spire for Jaedong, warp prism + robotics bay for the protoss player Jaedong pressuring JangBi's third, warp prism with zealots ravaging Jaedongs main Colossus pop out but are taken out by Jaedong, Jaedong loses most of his army to blink stalkers and colossi JangBi starts colosssus range, Jaedong trying to muster up corruptors and hydras JangBi runs over Jaedong Jaedong taps out, JangBi wins! wins 4-3!

Yeah it's really sad to see JD of all people playing really passively, and utterly failing to jump on the tiniest of lapse in defenses like he used to do :/
I feel like ZvP is just a different beast than other matchups; it's all about unit composition and jd can't seem to get it straight. It's painful watching him fail this over and over.
Why would coach Park think Samsung Ace is going to be RorO it is obviously going to be JangBang, thus having Jaedong as ace was STUPID ;_; FML, ul EGTL
I'm surprised at all these people second-guessing the ace pick.
1. It's always easy to criticize in retrospect and as a bystander, 2. Coach Park knows and understands things that we don't, 3. Finally, this match is meaningless for EGTL anyways. They're eliminated.

RoRo just played a super shitty game against Alive how could coach Park expected that? Jangbi has always been Khan's #1 player since HoTS. Damn shame tho, herO could have a better chance as ace player than anyone else.
I didnt really see JD play a bad game. He had chances to win its just jangbi played better. I do agree though that hero with a pvp has a better chance then JD in the zvp. I think any protoss is a better choice then a zerg.
Plenty of positives to take. HerO has really grown after Park picked him riskily a few times, Alive and Oz are coming back to being legit players again after they lost momentum with fnatic.
With Taeja and maybe Snute to return, they've got a pretty good roster for next season, if they all continue to improve
sending Jaedong instead of HerO -_-. Just like the time in 2011 Proleague finals ace match where coach Park decides to send out fucking Best instead of Bisu against Flash.

Coach Park just can't catch a break can he? Turns around the disaster that was EGTL, leading SKT through years of dominance, but his ace player loses one time, and the anonymous forum posters are all over him.
jd is probably the top ranked player in eg-tl in their internal rankings. The coach sees hundreds of games from each player while we see a handful heavily effected by variance. Given that, it is ridiculous to criticize their decisions.

But..but, his ZvP hasn't looked good since he transitioned to SC2 and Jangbi is a pretty good player. I agree with your statement, yet sending out JD is like playing russian roulette with 2 bullets in the chamber.
LOL why ppl so mad? EGTL can send Huk for ace match i wouldnt care, they are not gonna reach the playoffs and the regular season is almost over, who cares who they send.

There was nothing to turn around bud. They were going to turn those L's into Win's eventually lol. They either get manhandled or take it to Ace more times than not and guess what? This happens to all the other teams as well when a team loses the Ace but it's only amplified here because it's TL-EG so carry on! Oh glorious leader!

I don't completely understand your post, but yes, part of it was the phenomenon of regression to the mean, where EGTL was playing so abnormally bad that their results had to get better because they couldn't get worse. Another big factor was adding aLive and Oz, which added much needed depth to EGTL's lineup. But I do believe that Coach Park played an important positive role for EGTL since Round 4, and he's done a pretty good job. Only optimists believed EGTL would still make the playoffs when Park joined, but at least they aren't last anymore.

Because this win would have been crucial in their race against CJ and T8? For a team like EG-TL it is not just about reaching the playoffs. They also want to earn respect in Korea and it would be for sure much more impressive to finish 6th instead of last.
Excellent games, really wish JD had pulled the win out of the last game, but I thought he played very well! He no longer sticks to roach ling for too long in his ZvPs :D
Also, a huge shout out to SNM & Whiplash, their casting is MUCH better in these later rounds. It's no longer distracting at all! Not amazing still, but I enjoy it. Especially, the interview translations are interesting/fun.
well jd is a good pick as ace as he has balls of jaedong but when he is just so bad vs p that its no joke and i cant agree with that sentiment about the casters, they sucked hugely in the early stages and they still do, even if they ve improved its like....well....i dont see it -_-
