So happy! Not only WCS EU was better in terms of entertainment value than WCS KR but now I know that Europeans own Koreans + Show Spoiler +

since EU came from the losers bracket, and KR was in the winners bracket the whole time,

shouldnt that EU win only reset the bracket, and so they would have to play another set?

isnt it like that for tournies with winner/loser brackets?

EU lost once, and was still in the tourney and got to keep going, whereas KR loses once and KR is out?

can anyone clarify if that is what happened?

That depends on the format of the tournament.

on the 1st page it says

Format:
Double elimination,

if KR only lost today to EU, why are they out after 1 loss?

you missed the last 2 years of sc2 and double elimination tournaments, where everyone was qqing about the finals. Then tournaments changed the finals into an extended series sort of thing until they dropped it completely. So no advantage anymore if you take the winners route except less games.

Yeah, they could/should have defined the format better I guess. But I really didn't expect 2 set of games somehow (I might be following ritmix too much).

I think the format is fine - the winners have less games to win, even if this is the only bonus they get.

So I saw that KR lost the first match 5-3. I can't find the second match though. Surely they can't crown a champion after claiming it's a double elimination tournament and the Korean team has only lost once? That would be incredibly silly.

Was a great tournament to watch! I really liked the format and the maps they chose!

It's sort of sad that that the Ritmix RSL tournaments don't seem to get much exposure.
