One of the least interesting "multiple counter attacks/run by" games ever.

Why are Husky and TB misgendering Puck? That's really rude and also not very professional. I saw the MLG casters doing the same thing in the game against Sage.

discussed to death in this thread, but puck is as confused about his/her gender as the rest of us

She publicly stated she was transgender so I don't know why it would be confusing? Did she say something else recently?

Yes.

http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/1d0bjn/is_leiya_puckk_again/c9loq6d?context=3

Short story, Puck's fine with being referred to as a he, at least for the sake of convenience. FFS, even Puck's teammate refer to Puck as a he.

Ok thanks for linking me to that. It sounds like they're unsure about their gender identity. Without knowing the background of their current situation it came across as Husky and TB being really rude.

I don't see how Puck's teammates' use of pronouns is important, but regardless at least Puck's fine with whatever pronoun is used.

Well, of course teammates' use of pronouns isn't important

But neither is that of the casters. Keep in mind that TB helped organize the tournament; the casters either know about Puck's circumstances or they're just innocently incorrect. Why in the world would you assume they're being rude to their invited players?

Mmm, no, what I mean is that what the teammates have to say about the choice of pronouns isn't important compared to Puck's choice. So while they should use the correct one I am not going to take their word on the pronouns over Puck's is what I am saying.

I stated already that I wasn't aware of Puck's current ambivalence to gendered pronouns and that given the last information I had was that they were using she/her pronouns, hearing Husky and TB use he/him pronouns struck me as possibly rude. In the context of some of the transmisogynistic behavior that happened (and luckily at least on TL was rapidly shut down) when Scarlett (and also Puck) came out and general (trans)misogynist behavior in much of professional gaming it seemed like a pretty normal concern to have.

31k viewers? Holy hell, this is sick. So glad people are tuning in and giving this tournament the viewer count it deserves. Love all you people

Rudermensch, surely the best thing to do is just email TB (or even PM him) or Husky asking them the question of how they know what to say, and not get involved in yet another debate that ends up going round in circles on here. Its far too easy for the trolls to get their trolling done when everyone keeps making such a massive issue of it, especially when there seems to be alot of confusion as to what exactly the situation is.

On topic, i think this has been pretty good so far. Yes there have been issues but all of the issues are just stuff that happens. TBH TB and Husky are an awesome and amusing combo and the games have been mistake laden, but very very entertaining.

Perhaps TB means something different when he says "really good PvP". I found it a bit drawn-out tbh.

I wonder if it's better to broadcast WCS NA during these times. Too bad it would overlap with WCS EU.

I think WCS is changing times this week (two hours earlier) should be a bit better for EU viewers.

It deserves? It's got this many viewers due to good advertising, something most tournaments neglect. The games are abysmal and I had to turn the stream off because I was getting Thorzain vs Killer flashbacks. That last game was a great example of what happens when both players just keep going full foreigner whenever they get in a good position. It's sad and frustrating rather than entertaining

Exciting to actually have an NA tournament (: Maybe it doesn't have the starpower of a big tournament but there's a lot of players to look out for

If you can adjust the time to be better for EU viewers it will always be better for your tournament I would say.

The problem is WCS KR & WCS EU already take up the good EU timeslots.

I decided Shoutcraft America deserved my eyeballs because I like several of the players, the production value is good (even though there are have been issues - this is the first broadcast after all), most of the games have been entertaining. It's also a tournament that supports the NA scene, which is a big plus. Sure, the casting is a bit casual for my taste, but those Husky and TB mesh pretty well.
30000 other people also agreed that Shoutcraft America deserved their eyeballs.

I don't see why it's an issue. If you don't want to watch it, feel free to do what you're doing while the people who enjoy it can keep watching. It seems like you're trying to say that people watching are foolish for liking what they see.

I love this tournament, but so far I've been less than impressed by the observers who very often miss action. Maker vs Puck not showing key drops. Minigun vs Puck watching stalkers walk across the map instead of a zealot warp-in, and missing an oracle going into Puck's main, instead clicking on Minigun's units at home. The observer is idle too often, hovering over units that are standing still instead of keeping an eye on the mini-map and catching all of the action. Perhaps I'm spoiled by other observers in other tournaments, but I hope they figure out a system to improve the observing in these games.
