Parting isn't KESPA.

Also funny how Mvp with broken wrists was able to roll parting with ease, and the best bw player in the world just went 0-2.

This inconsistency is a trend I've noticed in SC2, is likely because of SC2's lower skill ceiling in my opinion.

I think this is why players can beat people like Flash and Jaedong, because macro is so easy in SC2 that it's not a factor and then it comes down to coin-flips, scouting, and mind games.

This simply isn't true. People were saying it back in 2010 and it was somewhat true then but it's just complete bullshit at this point. We consistently see the superior players tear other high tier contenders apart by straight up outplaying them. Even in BW players would have bad days and upsets would happen, don't even try and rewrite history by pretending that wasn't the case.

+ Show Spoiler +

Then cite some consistency. Even the our legendary SC2 players aren't exactly consistent. Hell, Nestea has lost to a lot of foreigners and he's a 3 time GSL winner.

It would be kind of funny if neither Flash or Life makes it out, let's hope that happens ^^

Life vs PartinG...
The two that started this whole group-of-death business are now the last two to battle it out for a Ro8 spot.

Orrrrrrr maybe Flash got outplayed?

Flash did not get outplayed in any of these games IMO. Protoss is much better in the late game than Terran, which is why Parting won game 1. In game 2, he did an all-in.

Flash lost game 1 due to his horrible ghostcontrol, nothing about imbalance.

Flash was ahead the whole game, killed 3rd of toss, took 4th behind it traded armies extremely efficient, had bigger army in the end, loses because storms & feedbacks kill and emp only damage, so parting only had to a-move and storm: the ground army of flash melts away, air army gets hurt and finished by tempests, stalkers etc.
Maybe he chose wrong unit composition, but losing several ghosts to feedback while also killing los of HTs with Snipes wasn't alone the game changer.
I didn't say "imba" but I am sick of seeing terrans to struggle to kill a protoss with storms ready and then the toss can still tech up to just have a superiour a-move (+ Storms) army.

you know, after Jin Air OSL I knew that TBLS were done for and the inevitable bogus zero soulkey shy(sos) was going to happen.

SC2 just delayed that a bit.

Bogus?
Seriously?
I remember a few people on the bandwagon for him but I would have never figured he'd come this far.
Still waiting on Mini, and Skyhigh on their break throughs
In all honesty, I still think Flash has enough in the tank for at least one WCS/GSL/OSL title, and at most, a 2nd.

It's also important to note that the late-game army for terran vs protoss hasn't been figured out.
Is it Battlecruisers/vikings/ravens/ghosts, do you need nukes? When is the right time to do the transition? Do you just need to hold and drop behind it?
The Protoss endball has been figured out, the terran one not rly. At least that's how I feel.

lol Mvp had magic that season. I still don't understand how he beat through all those Protosses.

Fun fact - the only player to beat Mvp that season was a protoss.

HerO

didn't ryung too

Yes Ryung won the first series, but lost the second series in Ro32 so Mvp advanced. HerO beaet Mvp in the winners match in ro16, but got absolutely demolished by Squirtle

Actually because feedback > snipe.

But that wasn't the deciding factor. Protoss having a deathball was.

Yes, it was the deciding factor.
He could have pushed easily for the win midgame if he had not lost so many units unnecessary.
And btw EMP > feedback

And his lategamecomp was shit, why no raven? Ravens are the best lategameunit in TvP and he did not build a single one...
