So I've been a bit out of touch with SC2 this weekend, MLG seems to really have screwed up. Have there been any statement made from any MLG representative (other than twitter) that I can read?

Yea, Demuslim should be really hyped for going 4-4 in map score against Koreans who live in a teamhouse and train under Coach Park when he only really gets the NA ladder to practice on.

EDIT: Demu doesn't really live in a teamhouse anymore. It's just him and Machine. Looking forward to their move to San Francisco.

Demuslim is weird, he just never seems to have that one breakout tournament that will get him the recognition his play deserves. He's usually tearing it up in the NASL group stages, showing consistently good play over long periods, then doesn't quite get the big deep run.



This was a pretty good run. Beating your own team's proleague ace 2-0, and finishing 1 game away from qualifying in a Korean-stacked tournament is pretty good.

It's funny because certain "Casters" (who ironically appeared on the broadcast over the weekend) were slating IEM of their tournament structure and defending MLG to the point of complete bias. I wonder what they made of this tournament.

No doubt it was smooth as butter without any problems in their eyes.

I await to see if this isn't an overreaction, and if for example the issues with the Chinese players have been blown out of proportion but if it's as people make out, that is BULLSHIT.

Considering it was apparently not meant to be live in the first place, (apparently axeltoss said in chat that it wasn't, and that the stream was only because 6-7 people came in on their day off.)

Does that mean Demuslim technically broke the rules by tweeting the results?

Because DQ'ing Demuslim, and him therefore not getting to play in the challenger qualifiers would really be the perfect note to end this on.

big fuckup from MLG with many many things at this qualifier, so i wont watch anything MLG produced for the time until they get their shit together. Just running addblock is nor enough i think cause they maybe can present viewership numbers for their marketing partners, so better stop watching it at all. There still enough sc2 with GSL/OSL/WCS EU/Dreamhack/NASL/and so on

Just dont want to support such money whores. Its not helping sc2 grow like that. For me it seems they just want to milk the money out of it, when sc2 is still popular in the west and u know 1 more expansion to come will also peak interest. MLG wont do anything about it until they feel it in viewership!

I feel sad for all progamers or dedicated gamer who got stripped off a chance in competing for this years WCS NA and so also for the Season Finals and everything that would have come with it.

Level yes, u are right. Thx to the qualifiers, level is pretty high. But it lacks hero's... like the euro semi pro's that made it. Heros are born, great stories are written, u do not have that at this point and are trailing (maybe that i.e. hellokitty etcetc could be the unknown warrior u never know)..

Crank should technically be DQ'd too but MLG picks which of its rules they follow.

I don't agree with that. I don't think you can have heroes or much of a story with foreigners beating other foreigners, which is what's going to happen in wcs eu. There's no story in that. People want to see foreigners beating koreans, not each other. No hero is born from foreigners beating other foreigners. Scarlett's story was born when she beat a korean at IPL.

The heroes will come in the upcoming seasons after the Koreans are all in... Unlike Europe, the American server has at least playable latency from Korea. the EU - KR lag is unplayable at the highest level. Just ask TAiLS and finale. (Shuttle qualified because he lives in NA currently.)

During the stream today the casters were pretending they didn't know the results of the upper bracket, they clearly aren't supposed to be released.
