Cool! It's like a pre-MLG warmup to see some Korean action.

OGN caster. 8 ESF players. This should be amazing :D
|
isnt it haebyung, 해병. or am i tripping
people need to learn korean so they understand the greatness of marine's casting. (greatest caster of all time, not debatable)
|
This looks pretty cool, it should show the Korean players who did not get much HotS exposure. I think HyuN or Maru will win, but Monster has always been capable of showing good play.

TheMarine was the coolest Korean guy I met while I was in Korea, he was so nice and sincere to both myself and kjwcj whenever we saw him, even though his English wasn't great. He even sat down for three hours and had an interview with us (which we've finally got translated and are now editing).
So happy he's got his stream set up - definitely worth watching just to support someone who loves the game so much.

I was thinking the same thing, and I looked at TheMarine's Twitch page, and he kept VoDs in the past, though I'm not too sure whether the pros will be too keen on keeping VoDs, maybe they will be generous enough for the people who can't see it early in the morning.

That's not entirely fair considering most of the casters in English are European and their first language isn't English either. ^^

I'm getting a continued simple joy from ragdolls working in sc2. I've always said that if I can find the first man to do ragdolls in a game I'll buy him a lot of drinks.
|
Lategame TvZ looks quite interesting in HotS, also it looks like it is pretty balanced. - Corruptor splits against Seeker Missiles for Zerg vs Viking splits against Fungals for Terran - Yamato Cannon vs Abduct for the single-target spells - playing the chess game, trying to force your opponent out of position with run-bys, knowing the exact composition of the opponent and knowing where exactly he got his units, trying to outsmart your opponent
I'm looking forward to see more of HotS lategame TvZ
Edit: also stuff exploding and dieing in a huge battle looks really awesome with the new physics :D

in the last engagement he could only hit one fungal on the vikings, he abducted all the battlecruisers at once instead of trying to pull one after another and focusing it down and he didn't split his corruptors. Supernova didn't split his Vikings either but since Lucky couldn't hit the fungals it was okay for him. I think lategame TvZ has huge potential when the players practiced it enough so that they can control their units better. I think they need more experience.
Also lol at Engine "Infernal ... euh.... infernal...euhhhhhhhhh...Infernal Hellions!"

By comparison MVP had this one game in IEM vs zerg (forget who) where the moment he buried the mines the opponent gg'd in the midst of battle. I only got to see that because of state of the game.

then you need overlords instead of zerglings as Lucky showed. Quick Overlordspeed seems to fully negate Widow Mines.

Looks like Mines don't really work with early mech pushes since these pushes have no anti-air to keep Overlords from activating them before the Zerg moves in
also if you have them in the middle of your sieged up mech army, activating them with overlords will actually splash on the mech army and damage the terran player more than the zerg

I know I'm late as fuck, but just finished watching G1 from Maru vs San, I really think San would have had that game if he went for double robo instead of one. He definitely had the economy to justify it and it would have made holding Maru's counter so easy.

Basically force your opponent to 2 base all in while you try to go to 5 bases and hive and and die with 2k / 1.5k banked

I think Engine is confusing hesitation with haste ^.^ But he's got a point, going in too fast almost cost Hack the game and now it cost Hyun the game With Vipers Hyun would have won that fight very convincingly, he could've taken out all the siege tanks with a single blinding cloud

Wasted all the energy he needed for PDD right before the fight and had too many hellions instead of tanks; silly mistakes when being so far ahead. :/

That's why I said a "pretty much" straight on fight. As opposed to winning with the basic tenets of bio vs mech in abusing mobility and economy to batter your opponent down.

I know. Nova has like 6-8 orbitals, has access to 3-4 active mining bases, and makes no scv's. Meanwhile Maru is having to defend his one source of income and yet Nova keeps letting hellions keep him in check (despite floating more than enough money for defensive hellions of his own)

it's not really "worked". All it does is holding the terran back for a while so that zerg could tech, and Hack allows that by playing really terrible on his own. I dont see SH becomes a staple in zerg army aside from occasional gimmicks

Swarm Hosts can be effective but they have to be used very intelligently. One mistake and you are probably dead. You can't just directly attack with them and you have to be very careful with moving them. They require a different, more difficult playstyle from Zerg. They might be too weak in ZvT but we need some really good players to completely figure them out to see if that's actually true

New update:
(1485) Maru 1-1 Monster (1802) ------------------------------------------- 13.32% 3-1 1-3 40.33% 16.91% 3-2 2-3 29.44% ------------------------------------------- 30.23% 69.77%
Median outcome: Maru 2-3 Monster Estimated by Aligulac. Modify.
By the way, how did Maru turn the second game around? I left the series after I saw Monster ahead by so much supply, being sure that he would take the game and the set. :o

It's probably the camera hotkeys bug again. :/

They get screwed up so you need to remake them all again.

Also he did an attack at the third with 3 medivacs and marine-marauder while dropping the 4th with a single medivac and microing the rest of his units at home to defend the huge ling-bling-muta attack of Monster at his natural. Monster couldn't focus on the attack at Maru's natural and so he couldn't dodge the widow mines correctly and lost his third and fourth while losing too many units in the attack on Maru and getting cleaned up by the reinforcements.

Brilliant play by Monster. Expect with the morphing overseer on top of widormines

Maru! Use Battle Hellions! They good units!

Monster is the best Zerg I've seen in the beta. I've seen him play vs Koreans on their streams and he's just dominated them. He has 79.75 win percentage on the Korean ladder...

I think you missed that point where he used marine splits and focus fire and pulling scvs to defend against Monsters army while Monster was not able to activate or snipe the widow mines. That was much more difficult then just 'building widow mines and sending medivacs" Give him some credit for the game.

This is one of the weirdest games I've ever seen

Because Monster lost all his drones at his nat and Maru was on 3cc.

8/8/8 into 3 CC is a very safe build.

Monster had good strategy but Maru's execution and decision making (and luck on the hellion pokes) was superb.

GG, congrats to Monster!
Disappointed to not see any vipers or more swarm hosts, but Maru's mech rolled over and died too fast for it lol

Gratz Munster! I love watcing HotS different players use so different styles. You never know what you get
|
Actually, do we know anything about the prize pool for this thing?
|
I am working currently, just hope that VODs will be released for this.
And Monster was decent Zerg in WoL, he is just a bit unknown since he didn't attend many tournaments, but I also remember him beating MC in one of the MLGs(I think?) quite convincingly.

How could zerg possibly win :S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S
Congrats Monster.

Wow congrats to Monster. I wouldn't have picked him to do it, especially as a zerg in hots.
MVP zergs still scary @_@

Hmmm, appears Monster is #1 on KR ladder at the moment too? Zerg with ID 괴물 which google translate tells me means Monster
