Monster couldn't focus on the attack at Maru's natural and so he couldn't dodge the widow mines correctly and lost his third and fourth while losing too many units in the attack on Maru and getting cleaned up by the reinforcements.
He sat in his base all game and massed widow mines, then sent out a double drop with turbovacs and won the game. What was he microing in his base to defend? The widow mines killed everything.

I think you missed that point where he used marine splits and focus fire and pulling scvs to defend against Monsters army while Monster was not able to activate or snipe the widow mines.
That was much more difficult then just 'building widow mines and sending medivacs"
Give him some credit for the game.

I am working currently, just hope that VODs will be released for this.
And Monster was decent Zerg in WoL, he is just a bit unknown since he didn't attend many tournaments, but I also remember him beating MC in one of the MLGs(I think?) quite convincingly.
