even i dislike axeltoss, axslav makes this cast soooo great ... when he was playing i always watched his stream but was frustrated by his 4:3 ^^ now i can hear him talk about protoss in 16 so nice !
Well, technical issues suck. On the other hand, free 1080p and top class players playing HotS (not at top class level, but still) don't, so I guess I'm staying up for it :D

Maybe that explains why he fell out of the top-tier scene now. SC2 is no longer about mechanics and macro, it involves engagement sense and micro which he lacks.

TvP has hardly changed really beyond having some safer early-game Mech options due to Widow Mines and the new Tanks. Bio is still the dominant TvP composition despite all the hype about HotS TvP Mech being a potential option.

There's been some pretty funky tries of mech on engine and gisado hots but haven't seen too much success with it without the protoss going full retard (There was one between a prime toss and who I think is byun where byun wrecked face with hellbat/tank but the prime toss just threw away a lead oh so badly).

He had him on the run when alive was defending his base but could not really capitalize and MC near maxed out real quick after that.

Well of course, but imagine for example a series that goes 2-1. You could cast either player's 1st win as the 1st game, and it wouldn't change the end result. The longer a series is, the more such possibilities.

aLive was never known for his micro that's for sure. His mechanics were always there, but his idea of micro is a-moving a ball and creating a slight concave. In the current competitive world of SC2, you simply cannot expect to win against Code A, let alone Code S players with that level of micro.

How do you know this?
If they just pick randomly, then that could mean they accidently show the victor winning before all games have been played. What you say means they would have to know who won each game, but not know the date/time of each.

That's true. The only reason I used replays in the example was to keep it rooted in reality since if it was live then obviously there's no notion of things being out of order ^^
Even without an observer, that's pretty much the best MC could do in that situation. His control is just so much better than Alive's in some of these late game engagements.

That would have been crazy. As we have pointed out - the order of games is really quite important.
aLive threw that away. He had such a better economy. I think he could have added hellbats to the army at least to sponge and kill the zealots up front.
On one hand, it feels terrible to criticize aLive, who has very few fans to begin with, even when he was good, but that was such poor bio control. Come on aLive.

I have to agree, he either doesn't bother to split, or is way too slow to do so. Not asking for MKP level micro either. His macro later on at the end of the game was somewhat faltering too. You can tell when he was attacking MC's 4th and his bio was orange/red and supply around 150, he had the money to add bio to production queue, but didn't until long after he was retreating like 15seconds later.
Seems like his multi tasking was pushed too far this series and he just couldn't handle MC.

Uh, why? He was just the most successful toss in the GSL if you count losing 2-3 superior to losing 0-3.
It is superior for sure, haha, and this was MC with very little HotS experience but he's still clutch, adapting his play, and basically playing very intelligently. To me, this looked like MC, playing HotS from now on, will be a serious monster at MLG.
Judging from MC's post-GSTL interview yesterday he's now really good against Terran in HotS, that's why he kept on asking for Jjakji to come out against him yesterday.
MC played like the MC I know and remember from early WoL in those games today,. He just completely ravaged whatever alive tried to throw at him. His control, his macro, his storms, they were all perfect. Damn MC it seems you're back on form after moving to the IM house!
