Management can't be happy about that, the players often come very close but in the end they're not clutch. All of them. I hope they'll get there once they really got their strong lineup settled in. I'm talking JD, HerO, Taeja, Stephano, Revival. Even JYP plays really well sometimes. The thing is. Maybe they wont settle in. Stephano will be gone a lot over the course of a season. Hero and Taeja and also to a lesser extent JD will travel around aaaaaaaaaaaaa fucking lot. Cuz u know. They like winning and making money. So people who can really comit to PL are Revival, JYP, Zenio and maybe Puma right now. Cuz i don't think that thorzain and huk will stay for ever in Proleague(and also the did not contribute that much up to this point) Well they do like to make money but Incontrol described it pretty well on SotG "drunk" edition when he said that they'd focus on Korea for now and that it'd be a huge f'ing deal if Taeja or HerO do play in a foreign tournament. I think that's how it'll be. And I think it's a good thing. As much as I like to see TL winning all the foreign tournaments, I'd much rather see HerO and Taeja do well in PL and especially GSL. And then, when they do play at an MLG, Dreamhack, NASL or IPL, I'll be that much more excited.
Well i do agree with you, I would be more excited if they rock proleague. But I don't know how true this is going to be. I mean Hero and Taeja are Liquids player after all, so Incontrol propably has no say in this question. And stephano was pretty reluctant about the whole Proleague/GSL stuff in the first place. So I don't know. I sure hope you are right.

I've never seen Jaedong not play in proleague before until he joined EGL, and now he's glued to the bench despite being one of their best players >_<

At least HerO got me some FPL points

He is not glued to the bench that's just plain wrong. Last time he just came back from a foreign tournament and then from a heartbreaking loss in gsl wildcard, so he was propably in no shape to play.

He might still be jetlagged or not feeling well after his trip to the US. But being benched is bound to happen for everybody in such a strong team sometimes.

Against CJ Entus it was because he was still recovering from jetlag. Against KT where they got all-killed by Flash, it was because he had been preparing for GSL. Don't know what it was today.
There were a lot less tournaments in BW, so players had all the time in the world to take part in the few. Now there are dozens of tournaments that mess up the schedule and practice. Puts a huge burden on all the players.

Bam! Called it! Stephano to get sniped by Bbatta! Fucking sHy And making his trade value too good after week 1! Stephano should be on my anti not him! Fuck!

Yea but what I am saying is if you don't put him out there first you can guarantee that he will at least not have to play a ZvZ for his first match unless a zerg from the opposing team is all killing.

I see. In that case then yes, I'm also surprised by this decision. I guess they expected an all-kill.

Against rookie's first appearance, can't get a better deal than this though. Even if he's bad at ZvZ, he should have an edge going into the game. EG-TL can't afford best player only plays as a sniper.

Was Jaedong at the proleague match today? If so, I think they should have played him over Puma. Regardless of potential map imbalance for PvZ, Puma sucks. If JD wasn't at the match, I guess it's still jet lag though.

Of course he should but it's kind of an unnecessary risk to take.

Taeja and Jaedong are not there, so the only other viable options are probably Huk and JYP, since I don't think Zenio or Thorzain could have won against Jangbi. Maybe putting your faith in 3 PvPs in a row feels like a better plan? I don't know about that. That Jangbi played 4gate on Arkanoid last week doesn't mean shit that he is gonna do it again. And you cannot really blame HerO much for that loss, especially since we don't know if he even trained on Arkanoid (he probably trained mostly for Entombed and Ohana, but not much for the fifth map in the series when he expected to be needed probably on the 2nd or 3rd map). The only strange choice is Puma, but he might just have trained that map all week long, so we don't know that. Without Jaedong and Taeja, plus Stephano losing the first map, TL is not as deep a team as some make it out to be.
And finally, Jangbi played freakishly well, as did HerO. Sometimes good players just win three matches.
Well they can play Thorzain instead, he has actually won a match unlike Puma.
To be honest I don't get the coaching. Why start with Stephano? He can take out pretty much any terran or protoss player so why risk sending him out against a possible zerg.
Make more sense to go out with a player with more balanced skill in all matchups, like Hero or Thorzain.

I'm getting really tired of the randomness of Korean results to be honest. Players do well in proleague, but fail in individual leagues and vice versa. I don't know what to make of it, I don't want the games to be a forgone conclusion, but it would be nice to have more parity in the outcomes. They could switch to a different format of only Bo3 matches, but that goes against the teamleague spirit and has practical difficulties.
What's the point of Thorzain practicing for HotS when there's a high chance of Blizzard going apeshit patching the game every couple of weeks oO.

I think there is much truth in this xD
Taeja is the guy who you can trust to close out a series. He's skilled, He's clutch, he's needed.
JD is clutch but somewhat lacking in skill, outside of his already great ZvZ Hero is great but he's a confirmed choker and also he is snipeable in PvP, cuz it's fucking volatile as shit Stephano is great, but easily sniped, he basicly looses to most decent Zergs
Revival and JYP are great contributors but they lack that certain oomph to close the series against the opponents ace(well most of the time they do)
Thorzain, Huk, Zenio should, in my opinion, only be played as snipers on prepared maps, in prepared matchups (Thorzain TvT, Zenio ZvZ and Huk PvP) with prepared build orders, which are greedy or allin.
Puma. I am sorry. You should not be played at all right now. The guy is in horrible shape and he looks de-stroyed every time I see him loose. I really feel for him, he seems to have a huuuge mental block right now. I don't think tossing him out in the Lions Den is a good idea.

Huh. Guess I still gained a point overall. I feel like no anti team is safe in this format lol. Good thing I wasn't one of the poor schmucks with Jangbi on mine this time.
|
Anti Team is easily made. --> Hon Sin --> Dear --> Bisu
The problem is My team fucking sucks. Thank you bogus for beeing 0-4 And it sucks that Taeja and Best never play xD

EG-TL really needs to get better at closing out matches lol. So many 3-4 losses. I won't claim to know better than their coach, but there are some decisions I don't understand.
