I'm not sure; Stephano was supposed to own face here. I mean really tear it up. What I've seen from him so far is not that. The common argument is that Stephano has results and the Kespa players don't, so he must be superior. Right this moment I fon't feel that way. Stephano can crush any P/T in the world (be it gsl champ, kespa legend, god himself) but can also lose to a diamond zerg. Possibly, but not too consistently. What bothers me most is all the fans talking about him as if he'd come in and allkill right off the bat. Being an excellent T/P sniper in PL is badass, but all the extreme hype surrounding him makes losing without two or more kills feel like a disappointment. If you listen to the hype, you will always be disappointed.

Not suprised that Stephano lost the ZvZ. This format is really bad for him since he is vulnerable to getting sniped. After his showings in the other match, i'm quite sure the opponents aren't underestimating him as "just another foreigner" and WILL prepare that ZvZ sniper.
He really needs to practice with JD and Revivial to get his ZvZ up to par before he can become more than just a T/P sniper.

Are Jangbi's games any good? None are recommended but is that because people feel bitter? Hmmm.

His first game vs HerO was a build order win on Arkanoid, didn't see the rest of his games. Caught a little bit of him vs Revival where he looked pretty good.

Not sure why they started Stephano. He has stated ZvZ multiple times is his weakest MU. Should wait to use him when u know he will face a T or P for his first match imo

To everyone calling for heads to roll:
Don't Panic. Proleague seasons are very long and no one knows who's making the final calls, who's owning in in-house practice, etc. It's EG-TL's first PL campaign–there will be growing pains–and the team is running on an inconsistent and limited roster.

I'm talking JD, HerO, Taeja, Stephano, Revival. Even JYP plays really well sometimes.
The thing is. Maybe they wont settle in. Stephano will be gone a lot over the course of a season. Hero and Taeja and also to a lesser extent JD will travel around aaaaaaaaaaaaa fucking lot. Cuz u know. They like winning and making money. So people who can really comit to PL are Revival, JYP, Zenio and maybe Puma right now. Cuz i don't think that thorzain and huk will stay for ever in Proleague(and also the did not contribute that much up to this point)

Players aren't announced in advance, I think, so there is no way to know who'll be sent out.

No, Nestea killed Dimaga in a couple of minutes in the ace match giving Korea the win.

They're all strong if they play well and they're good players, some of them even great players, no doubt, but so far they really haven't been able to work together or perform well at the same time.
It's always one or two guys doing well (Stephano last week, HerO this week, you can go back through the weeks and count 'em all) but they can't string the good performances together and since no one has ever all-killed for them, they often almost make it but then still fail, it must be quite frustrating for them.

I dont understand why EG-TL used Stephano as the first player. He is a great choice against any terran or protoss so why not use him later and avoid having him play his first match against a zerg.

Lol those "legends and aces" were spending more time preparing for Their Kespa related activities and on different maps. While everybody else in the up/downs were only preparing for that group.

Well they do like to make money but Incontrol described it pretty well on SotG "drunk" edition when he said that they'd focus on Korea for now and that it'd be a huge f'ing deal if Taeja or HerO do play in a foreign tournament. I think that's how it'll be. And I think it's a good thing. As much as I like to see TL winning all the foreign tournaments, I'd much rather see HerO and Taeja do well in PL and especially GSL. And then, when they do play at an MLG, Dreamhack, NASL or IPL, I'll be that much more excited. Or you're right and they keep travelling in which case they might need a bigger roster. Snute is looking to go to Korea anyway, EG is never short on players.

Stop making excuses...he's played that match up on that map plenty of times. Even long before the Kespa players started playing sc2 lolol

Maybe they're planning to use Thorzain as their HotS ace for round 4, since that's what he's been practicing lately.
I'm getting really tired of the randomness of Korean results to be honest. Players do well in proleague, but fail in individual leagues and vice versa. I don't know what to make of it, I don't want the games to be a forgone conclusion, but it would be nice to have more parity in the outcomes. They could switch to a different format of only Bo3 matches, but that goes against the teamleague spirit and has practical difficulties.

All in all I'm just hoping that they'll figure things out. They're new to this whole thing and it's just the second round. Maybe they'll get more strategical experience as the season continues. And maybe be a little more consistent.

I'm so happy for Jangbi.
Fighting!
