That would force basically a zerg to be sent after him, which -if he succeeds- can then be taken on by Revival or JD. These are Kespa Zergs. They can rival JD or Revival any day of the week.

That's a nice reasoning, but in this particular match, given the maps (4 gsl maps, then 3 kespa ones) it was much better to send Stephano 1st or 2nd, instead of sniping someone. Seeing the results, a different lead might have been better, but in theory I think it was not a mistake to send him first.

It's not bad to try Stephano first, even if ZvZ is his weak spot, he's a scrappy player who always has a chance to win. Hero was finally played, and managed to pick up 3 wins. And Revival is a good player who should be played every match or every other match. And a ZvP for ace seems like a good pick. It's just that Puma pick... the difference between giving it 100%, and giving it 75%. When round 4 starts with HotS their clear advantage in skill will be reset and there's a good chance they'll fall to the bottom. Giving experience to their lesser players has no benefits. They have Idra and his body double secretly training Hots only for round 4.

You have to let your "lesser" players get chances to get experience in PL, or you're going to be stuck always playing the same people and if one of them is slumping/unavailable, then how are you going to have a chance to win? Imo it's fine to send out Puma/Zenio/Thorzain/Huk when you're still in the lead, and your other 3 choises were Revival, Stephano and Hero, who are all very solid players. Nothing wrong with that at all, and arguing about who's best to send from the players who aren't doing so well is a bit pointless: you don't know how well they are doing in practice and how much effort they are putting in. You don't know who has prepared for which maps and which matchups.

Puma must be amazing in practice, but fails when it comes to live games. Same as JYP, I mean the coach is an intelligent man, he wouldn't be picking them if they were just bad....
