Rain only wins 50% of his games inhouse according to an interview, and his teammates say that Soo is the best player. You really think that JYP's PvZ is better than Rain's? yes you are of course right, but I doubt they cheese (2/3 base immortal all in) a lot in inhouse tournaments

Fungal is a positioning spell, it doesn't stop anything from attacking once the units are in range in the first place, so it's better to use energy on ITs than fungal when the fight has already started Actually I think it has a lot more to do with zerg's increased use of hydras in their compositions. The problem with hydras used to be that a nice flank or other means of getting roaches in their face caused them to melt. ITs provide a buffer spell that does two things: the eggs prevent roaches from closing point-blank with a hydra-supported force & in the case of the roach buffer falling the ITs have to be killed first before the hydras attack. Earlier in a ZvZ match, before hydras come into play, you generally see more fungals being used than ITs - trying to catch large clumps of roaches and keep part of the enemy force out of the battle. And in response to MangoMountain - hydras are light units. They have less HP than roaches, but they take less damage from fungal than roaches. So it takes about the same number of fungals to kill hydras as it does roaches.

JYP's PvZ was statistically the best, that's not debatable. I'd take concrete past results over interviews. Players like TheBest, Miya have all been mentioned to be really good in practice, and all that hype only led to "meh" reactions when they actually played.
