Your vote: Who is the better Proleague caster?

(Vote): SNM (The Asian One)

also i had to use asian/non-asian because i'm sure people still don't know the difference besides how the two sound.

you need a vote for this? @_@

All I've seen is people bash both.

Thanks a lot, EG-TL.

Fionn you picked EG-TL as first, knowing yourself, you should be happy they arent last.

Better than Waxangel at least. I'm still wondering at how he believed that MVP would get knocked out early on at IEM by a bunch of foreigners, even if they were zerg.

no one is worse than Fionn.

During IPL5, he posted in the thread that DRG beat Yoda 2-0...turns out DRG lost 0-2, for that, I will never forgive him.

Kim Carrier, Artosis, need I say more?

Artosis was actually right in a couple of his "THIS IS THE NEW FACE OF THE PROTOSS RACE" predictions. All about 6-9 months later, but mostly right.

but, jjakji.

The biggest problem I have with SNM is he always says something like Kespa players do this or that when in fact everybody is doing that stuff

As a native english speaker, listening to him is tough. The way he structures sentences make it difficult to understand when one starts and when one ends. Couple this with his inability to say complete thoughts during play and it's quite brutal.

Grubby is much better, as is Khaldor. I'd imagine if you're not a native english speaker, somebody who isn't as comfortable with the language might actually be easier to understand.

As a native english speaker I don't know how it would be possible, for a native english speaker, to not understand SNM

Yeah and he's also been wrong about many other things. Guess what? Kim Carrier got a few things right but that doesn't change the fact that his predictions are absolutely abysmal.

Nobody's more epic than the old combo of ZeroSC2 and BrokenLoL though.

Never heard of them. Send me a link to some of their work please. O:

but grubbs, khaldor and SNM all speak fluently its just not their first langauge i think

Grubby and Khaldor speak fluently. SNM does not. I'm not talking about lack of an accent or a cast vocabulary. I mean fluid, natural, without a struggle to spit out words correctly.

that's not what fluency means, I'm sure you can look up a word that more accurately conveys what you want to express

flu·ent (flnt)
adj.
1.
a. Able to express oneself readily and effortlessly: a fluent speaker; fluent in three languages.
b. Flowing effortlessly; polished: speaks fluent Russian; gave a fluent performance of the sonata.
2. Flowing or moving smoothly; graceful: a yacht with long, fluent curves.
3. Flowing or capable of flowing; fluid.

This is exactly what I mean.

You can't do that in writing though.

When you use fluently originally, without enough context to assume otherwise, the automatic implication is the oft used definition for fluent when a language is mentioned which is implying you were talking about his understanding of the English language.

If you say something like.... "a Fluent speaker" rather than "fluent English" then you would probably express yourself better. It's more semantic than usage of definition though.

but basically you can win GSL and then retire and youre still a bad ass so basically, Jjakji is still a badass.

It's not SNM's English is bad, his accent is actually really easy to understand. The problem is that he have a lot of "um" "ah" mixed in, even worse, in weird places that's tends to throw people off.

to be fair snm probably models his casting off the korean casters who do exactly that too (try to say why a player should be doing something, so you get the reasoning before the players actually do it so when they do it it's like "whoa you're a wizard") so if that's a problem (i'm not listening to the english cast so i dont know) then it's probably an effect from that.

Best part is that anyone can change streams and tune in to the Korean cast. Good thing is you probably won't understand a word what they are saying, so no fear of hearing "silver leaguers" analyze the game for you. (I doubt thats the case anyway when it comes to OGN)

Good call, I'm gonna just listen to the korean casters for game/sound music and watch the twitch stream since it's much better video quality.
