If you mean the GSL Tour Finals, I don't think he necessarily needs to win it. For example if he lost to PartinG in the finals he might go to the Tour Finals as runner-up, since PartinG is already qualified. Or else GSL could be mean, and have the runner ups from both WCS and WCG duke it out for the final spot, in which case LoWeLy might have to face Creator.

If Parting wins WCG, they might not do either. Last year when Mvp qualified through GSL, WCG, and BlizzCon, they didn't give the spot to the WCG runner-up (XiGua), or the highest placing BlizzCon finisher that wasn't Mvp or Nestea (Sen), but instead invited the next highest placing GSL players (MMA and Polt). If they do that, the spot goes to Seed.

Update for War3-interested folks: Fly and TeD won the tiebreakers (Lyn lost to both of them), so the semis are Moon vs. TeD and Sky vs. Fly. First game starts at 12:00 (~15 minutes).

Thanks! I was a little confused 'cause on the Chinese stream corresponding to WCG D, they have Fly vs. Sky playing at 15:30 ... lol.
EDIT: To further confuse things, Replays just updated a new headline saying that Fly vs. Sky will indeed be at 15:30, but when you click on the link, it says 12:00. Hahaha.
EDIT2: They corrected the headline after I refreshed. Fffft. Sloppy.
Cannot BELIEVE CombatEx won his group and then took a game off Parting. Did Fraer underperform really badly? I would've expected him to get out of the group, if not win it. I would've even predicted Killer or Paranoid over CombatEx and AdelScott.

Look at the stream, it says Sky vs Fly next :p
Yeah, I doubted they'd keep relooping Linkin Park for 3.5 hours until the game started. Just wanted to give Replays some shit for their not uncommon sloppy headline articles.
Dunno if you're being sarcastic with the "innovative new strat" remark.
For the people who missed Sky vs. Fly game 1, v. brief summary: TM, Fly at east position, Sky in the north. Standard openings and good harass by Fly transition into FL tower rush from Sky. Fly attempts to hold but loses his BM playing too close to the wire. Everything spirals out of control for Fly there, as Sky's towers destroy Fly's altar before he can get his BM out again. Fly stays in the game for a while longer but eventually has to GG as he's losing his main and rax in addition to the rest of his burrows.
Think TeD will beat Moon. Moon's play this tourney hasn't impressed much as much as it pains me to admit. Beyond "whoa, I didn't know he still played and is STILL THIS GOOD," idk.
Match scheduled afaik @ 15:30 China time, so a little under three hours.

Honestly, I don't think Macsed really had to win this tournament to really make China like SC2. After the BWC and this (just look at the crowd, holyshit) I really think that SC2 can still make it big in China.
My dream is a Korea-China rivalry in StarCraft. Imagine how epic that would be.

Korea did bring their 'best' players since all the Koreans played in the qualifiers and the best players made it through.

Melee to Brawl is like BW to SC2. (In melee, you can actually do these things called combos. Cue everyone going ooo and ahh.)
Edit - To clarify, combos are a set of attacks you can chain together without the opponent being able to easily escape or dodge. In Brawl, it's much harder to actually do combos since there's almost little to no stun on most attacks. Also to clarify on BW to SC2 comparison, Melee was actually "accidentally" really good (like BW).

Ken was so fucking good at this game. Also was great at Brawl when he still played competitively.
Too bad SSB isn't supported as more of a competitive game by Nintendo.
SSB is a fun to play and fun to watch game. Easy to learn but hard to master (yeah people throw this around a lot but it is definitely easy to play + since the top players have consistently stayed top, it's hard enough to master that there is a difference between the top end players and the not top end players).
It's a simple game to play in a way but like any other game with consistently top players, it has potential.
Wonder what's in store for SSB4 (number #1 - Maybe balance patches and some features that made SSBM great, like combos and other fun stuff).
They can look on a long and famous past of esport events. They showed the community and the whole world over and over again, how to do it + Show Spoiler +

The most broken build were close-spawn Human players doing militia/tower rushes on Turtle Rock. My god.
Also I didn't follow much WC3 back in the day at the pro level, outside of the occasional WCG.

TeD is probably the best UD in War3 history, but he just recently picked up the game again in the past few months (so prob. same amount of prep as Moon). UD's also slightly favored against NE but not by too much. But yes, TeD is amazing, is one of the only UDs to maintain a decent win-rate against Orc (say, closer to 50% than 30% ), and his micro has always been top-notch. Additionally, there aren't many UDs of his caliber to practice with when you're prepping a MU these days; I think the only top UD would be Lucifer.

TeD was always a beast. He slumped for about a year, but aside from that year, he was the best UD in the world. Most UD's said that they were UP, and that statement is true vs Orc, but TeD won everything anyways (except for when the top Orcs were in their top shape).
Cheers for the WC3 history lesson guys. I kind of fell off following it after the Grubby/Moon era, think before Sky came to prominence. Not sure when my era would be in terms of year, but that's the vague period.

FWIW, both Lucifer and Believe don't think that the Orc vs. UD MU is that bad. Lucifer says that it's normally 55-45 in favor of Orc (if you're not facing off some UD killer like Grubby or Lyn at their peaks), but with the right maps it's perfectly manageable. Believe said something like UD is just a race that's punished more heavily for mistakes and that you just need to play better, lol.
In terms of representation, I think we had the best of each race here but HU and arguably NE. Orc, Fly and Lyn. UD, TeD. NE ... difficult to say because there are so few well-performing NE these days; it's kind of sad to say this, but I honestly think TH000's NE off-race is better than Remind, but Remind has military coming up, and Moon -- I was surprised to see him playing here. HU could've used more TH000, period; if not TH000, then definitely Kenshin, possibly Yumiko.
All Chinese finals in WC 3, Dota 1, and short of an upset by Orange on IG, Dota 2. This makes up for MacSed's loss to Parting in SC 2 I reckon, after all those games are a lot bigger in China.

That's so true. I would even say he was the only undead who kept 50% win ratio against orc during orc era. Around 30% was typical for undeads. Also there were most orc players in that time, so it was reallly hard for undead players to win any major tournament without facing a lot of orcs on the way.
By the way, most of you probably saw this video already, but I guess that shows what a beast Blademaster is

That's so true. I would even say he was the only undead who kept 50% win ratio against orc during orc era. Around 30% was typical for undeads. Also there were most orc players in that time, so it was reallly hard for undead players to win any major tournament without facing a lot of orcs on the way.
By the way, most of you probably saw this video already, but I guess that shows what a beast Blademaster is
I think Happy deserves a mention next to TeD. He did pretty damn well too even during the Orc era.
TeD took out Lyn this tournament too, which is no small feat. Lyn did look off though in pretty much every game except the one mirror they streamed between him and Fly.
I remember discussions about balancing the game and people suggesting that blademaster should have divine shield instead of illusions They were joking ofc, but can you imagine what would THAT be?

No, that's called Blizzard All-Stars, and is not even in beta yet. Dota Allstars = Dota 1, the map inside WarCraft III that Dota 2 was made 1:1 with. It's essentially curious to have both Dota 1 and Dota 2 in the same tournament, but it's more of an administrative issue of WCG.
EA always claims they develop FIFA so much, but when I look at these repetitive player motions, I still have the feeling they haven't changed that much from '98.
Wolf and Doa casting FIFA right now at D, by the way.

Khaldor not saying much but Tobi being really enthusiastic about casting (and explaining the abilities and game).
Edit - Also they're regularly saving the WC3 Dota game (in case of disconnection or something I assume). Cue the technology isn't there, etc jokes about SC2.
Anyway, both casters (Doa and someone else, sorry don't recognize the other person) don't know much about the game.
Still, it's always entertaining to hear them try to figure out the game (same with Tobi and WC3, and when he enthusiastically said Moon was winning when he was losing).
Edit - I am actually finding the Dota 2 cast by Doa and the other person really entertaining (trying to figure out the game). Also I still haven't heard Khaldor in Stream A >.>. He went missing for a while.
Edit 2 - Ridiculously long 60 min Dota game (Stream A).
Kudos to WCG. I actually enjoy how everyone has to cast everything (I thought Khaldor wasn't there anymore, he stopped talking like 20 mins into the game). To be fair, Tobi didn't really give him a chance (he was really enthusiastic).
Despite the dislike for WCG, I really like how they get our favorite casters to just cast random games. Tobi being enthusiastic about WC3 game (Moon vs Ted) was fun (also funny when he was enthusiastic about Moon winning). Tobi explaining to Khaldor how the abilities and stuff works was also fun.
