Nani should have won been able to kill with that 8 gate, but poor decision making from Nani coupled with good play by Life denying pylon warp ins ended up costing him the game.

Nani was NEVER ahead after the 8 gate finished.

Was Naniwa vs Life the only game without a pause?

The first timing of Naniwa was good, the second was kinda meh.

He could have gone for Life's fourth base to make the game more complicated. Life would probably then have sacrificed the base and made a counterattack. He could still make broodlords afterwards but the game would be more low-economy.

This, I have no idea why Tasteless and Artosis were making it sound like Naniwa was ahead after that attack...

Well, if Naniwa did more damage, he would've been ahead. They were mostly going crazy when he was still killing stuff

He was still ahead, but he floated ~2000 resources throughout the game. That could have been a second robo and the same number of colossi + observer and 1 minute earlier attack.

After the attack ended, Tasteless basically said that if Naniwa didn't make a huge mistake he'd win the game.

Typical laziness from Naniwa. Can't think of anything? All-in time!

That is an incredibly absurd statement.

Is it? He could have taken a 4th, but he attacked into a spine wall hoping he could just roll though. Unlike players like Squirtle, Creator, and Hero, who are trying to figure out the late game for PvZ, Naniwa mails it in with the typical 3base pre-hive all in. Herp.

Maybe he thought that his little advantage from the early game would have snowballed into a slight, but significant-enough lead that would have enabled him to win with that big atack? Sure, he lost it, but there was good reason for him to think that he could've succeeded.

He got his entire army smashed and his tech/econ delayed by minutes for only 1 hatch, a dozen or so drones, and a delay on further droning. If he had gotten out with his units, I can see why he would think he was ahead, but after Life mopped his forces up there was no doubt.

Yeah they pretty clearly stated that Life was in decent shape once the attack stopped.

And if his proxy pylons hadn't gotten sniped, he probably could have done more damage too. He couldn't reinforce his army.
