Well, GOM has photo sessions for getting pics like that, for foreigners you have to rely on random event photos.

Replacing Scarlett with Sen is not at all a good idea. Scarlett beat Sen 3-0 to qualify and her match up is a ZvZ. Add in that she won ZvZs for both the WCS Canada and North America finals and beat both Nerchio and Moonglade at BWC, then you've got right there a bonfire ZvZ monster. Meanwhile, Sen couldn't even beat her for the spot.

So honestly, who is a better option to throw into the series only ZvZ matchup? ZvZ monster or person who was beaten by ZvZ monster.

Life got him back later though, and got him back pretty convincingly. Plus, he isn't playing for the World team. They have to win both this round and the all-kill team league round.

Elfi went up 2-0 in TSL4 but lost 2-3 in the end. Elfi should have been on the world team!

That was an eternity ago when we're talking about life. Before he started ripping up nerds and winning titles in Korea and in MLG. Elfi would get badly 3-0ed in a best of 5 if they played right now.

While it is true that Scarlett beat SEn in the final qualifier I have to point out it is being played in NA server and is an online not offline event.

Considering their offline result, almost every single time SEn shows up he ends up as the last foreigner standing/best result among foreigners and consistently beat Koreans regardless of the match up. While it is impressive that scarlett beat nerchio and moonglade at BWC, SEn beat Curios 3-0, Zenio 3-1, Killer 2-0 recently in ZvZ and also won against Hero the dreamhack champ and Grubby who got 2nd place in IEM. So imo SEn, who beat koreans consistently and more than every other foreigner beside Stephano, is probably a better choice for the last spot.

edit. also checking their TLPD record, SEn has higher zvz win rate than Scarlett with a lot more games played and against better opponents.
And can you honestly name any foreigner that is better than SEn beside probably Stephano? And even that might be debatable.

An amount of games played can't really be too helpful here Scarlett hasn't really been on the scene for very long. She only really rose to prominence in July when she won WCS Canada. Before that, while she was known, was not really seen at any events. Since then she has beaten almost everything thrown against her, including Koreans. She has beat Hero twice, and even pushed Leenock to game 7. Leenock! She even beat Bomber at MLG Dallas. With wins against players like that, it's arguable that she has as much right to the title Korean Killer as any foreigner out there.

I think World has a real solid chance at winning this. Based on form, the Korean line-up is quite average; far from the top 5 (with the exclusion of Life).

My tips:

Seed < Lucifron
DRG > Scarlett
Squirtle < Nerchio
Life > Naniwa
MC < Stephano

To be fair, it is easier for the top Koreans to go into the slump because the skill gap is so small between the top 50 koreans compare top 50 foreigners.

Which is quite impressive! I've never disputed the fact that Scarlett is good and can beat Koreans on a good day, I'm just saying that given the consistencies of SEn with a much longer career and a slightly more impressive offline result, I would've prefer SEn instead of Lucifron, Nani, and Scarlett as a representative of the foreigners.

They had playoffs for the Foreigners except Stephano and Naniwa. The other players in the team earned their right to be there by winning series against other contenders. Sounds fair to me. The concept of qualifying for a tournament is hardly a new concept to pro-gamers. Sen didn't qualify, nothing more to say.

I like Sen, but it is probably a good thing that he didn't qualify because he is currently too ill to travel to IPL5, so would probably have had to drop out anyway.

He obviously mean that the skill level is more even among the top 50 koreans than it is among the top 50 foreigners...
Which is absolutely true.

Life is the favorite against probably anyone, that doesn't mean he is impossible to beat, not even by foreigners.

Yeah, but at the BWC, scarlett got destroyed by parting, just like sen got destroyed by parting, so sen only made it that far because he avoided parting till then. Scarlett has beaten hero online and offline at MLG. Curious is decent, but sen beating zenio and killer isn't impressive, since they're both not very good.

Yup, the more I look at it the more I agree that --with the possible exception of Sen > Lucifron, but Sen isn't attending anyway-- these might be the 5 best non koreans. Exciting stuff.

It's just worded kind of strangely.

He's saying that the difference between the absolute top koreans to the slightly below the top koreans is very small compared to the difference between the top foreigners (Stephano) and the guys slightly below the top (below the Grubby line).

Edit: So it's easier for a Korean to go into a "slump" because they're slumping as soon as their not in the top five which is not a huge drop in skill versus a foreigner is slumping once they've failed at several big events in a row.

Feels like Life is the only guy on the korean team with a good shape (that is truely top5 korean) at the moment.

Seeing the lineups and the fact that it's gonna be bo1, it's gonna be close, probably 50/50.

Seed > Lucifron
DRG > Scarlett
Squirtle < Nerchio
MC < Stephano
Life > Naniwa

3:2 for Korea is what i would expect, but the map for Naniwa is really good and Seed isn't doing well plus Scarlett could win as well.
