Having a discussion with some friends about it in Skype. I only saw Major and Flash lose to Life with it, and Bomber losing to Leenock, did anybody have success?
Considering people have been saying it's 'the future' once it's worked out, would love to know. I believe that Flash used Mech against another Terran, TheStc i think, and he pretty much teared him apart. I wanna comment on this: A. I do think mech is the future of zvt i. It encourages roaches, which become less valued over time ii.It allows the terran to have a superior ground army, and a superior army that controls space until BLs B. Mech was used wrong at GSL finals and MLG dallas i. MVP was using mech right during GSL finals, games he lost were due to greedy expos getting denied, or him not splitting his vikings or not getting them fast enough. ii.At MLG Dallas, all mech I've seen has been moderately controlled(ie hellions as meatshields for roaches instead of fighting lings. iii. Flash has shown smart play with mech when he goes for a economy cripple move right before BLs come out, but he was unsuccessful because a. He didn't start making vikings when his mech army moved out. b. His bases were not locked down tightly enough and were vulnerable to counter attack c. Flash didn't freakin target bases(which was the point of his attack) once BLs were out and still sieged tanks -_-. I see mech's potential, and I see how terrans are failing. Perhaps it is the future, but I haven't seen it work, at all this tournament. Maybe still needs refined, but literally haven't seen it work once in TvZ for the entirety of the weekend. Maybe we'll see bio into mech tech switches like in brood war? I just don't see it, I mean Bio needs to stay pretty handy on the upgrades and needs medivacs which will hog gas. So at least one engi bay, probably 2 armories to keep mech upgrades ticking over, plus additional air upgrades?
Plus any techswitch that Terran can pull, Zerg can pull it faster. I'd love it if Terrans could work out a way to make this happen actually, but it just seems a tall order.
I jjust genuinely don't think Mech is all that good because it puts all your eggs in one basket, and if you screw up your composition and get wiped there is no chance of recovery. The balance between hellion/siege tank/thor is pretty critical, and really easy to get wrong.
Would like to be proven wrong, if it became a really viable and solid, dependable style. Don't want it to become a go-to style though as, to be honest aside from the novelty it's pretty boring to watch sometimes, for me anyway.

Plus... it's the MLG + ChinaTournamentIDontKnowItsName vs the GSL Champion.
It's going to be awesome! Mechanically demanding and micro intensive doesn't mean entertaining for the viewers. It's entertaining for me and I'm a viewer :D Terran logic, terran logic everywhere!!! PvP is plenty micro-intensive and technical too. That doesn't mean it's not terrible.

As much as I'd like to see him double royal road, I think Leenock is going to win this. man i hate this for the finals...should just be one BO5/7 instead because leenock being able to win in one Bo3 for a GRAND FUCKING FINALS is pretty stupid. Didn't Day 9 say its just a simple Bo7?? Yes, EtherealDeath and oogieogie don't know the format I figured what ethereal was saying was right, but i guess i shouldn't expect that for a lr.

He partly was but still -> one smart cast to immobilize 10+ units if the terran doesn't pay attention for one second is so ridiculous. Back then, snipe from ghosts took way more APM and skill to use than this crap and still got nerfed to shit.
I don't want to take anything away from Life at all, but it is simply boring to watch and I am sure it will get worse in HOTS.
Like fuck it did, you just spammed R click and there was literally not a single zerg composition that could be cost effcient against ghostmech

The TvZ series have gotten me extremely pumped and hyped all to end in ZvZ. Life is cruel (pun intended).

In the pool and championship bracket, TvZ was 26-25 with 11 series won by zergs and 11 by terrans.

How did foreigners and Protosses do? Meh. We suck. Don't be too disheartened, Rain just ran into Bomber in Bomber mode, before he later imploded.

Also why do people keep whining about infestors and whatnot? Do you think Blizzard reads LR threads? I better not fucking catch these same people complaining that League of Legends has more viewers or saying " sc2 is dying "
It's a good time to go to sleep for a lot of europeans. That could explain the viewer drop.
