Reddit is just as likely to have trolls/offensive posts and pictures, it's just that it is frowned upon and moderated hell of a lot more than /b/ and /vg/.

"reddit" didn't saying anything. People said things on reddit. People always shit on "reddit" as though it's a hivemind. Fact of the matter is, there are assholes on there as there will be anywhere. Some subs are good (/r/gamedev is excellent), some are bad (/r/shitredditsays for example), some (most) have good and bad posters/content. /r/starcraft is firmly in the last category. Any thread with Scarlett, for example, brings out lots of trolls. But they get downvoted (mostly) and life goes on.

Most likely, some people on reddit commented on the thread about his twitter post saying bad shit (and will have been downvoted into oblivion) and will have messaged him horrible things. He's probably in a bad place and reacted badly, as is understandable.

I'm not aiming this at you in particular, just venting.

People on TL aren't better; the site is simply more heavily moderated. It works. If they were as hands-off as reddit, don't kid yourself: it wouldn't be much better on here.

Just read the page .... the majority of the comments are positive and wishing him the best. The "bad comments" have been downvoted to the point where you have to scroll to the bottom then press the + next to the comment to even read it.

I suck at navigating Reddit. I looked at the starcraft page and didn't see anything.

the thing is that the negative comments flood in pretty quickly and if djwheat read the thread right when it was posted i don't blame him for being disgusted.
