Should be a sick match-up, and I really want TSL to win. But... I don't think they can do anything about LG-IM's depth unless Hyun goes online beast-mode like he likes to do. That, and Symbol plays well.

Symbol vs Seed Polt vs Mvp HyuN vs YongHwa Shine vs First Revival vs NesTea inori vs Happy RagnaroK vs YoDa
Why wouldn't the top match be MVP vs Symbol? Seed isn't better than MVP. If you swap those then I guess I agree with that order and IM would stomp.
After all this time, I am still really worried before every IM teamleague match. >-> Though IM is my favourite team, I usually find myself unable to root against the team they are against, usually wanting a 5-4, etc, because I always feel sorry for the losers. But since the TSL coach actually went on the record to state that they want to crush IM because they have a rivalry, this time I find myself rooting strongly against TSL.

There is a notion that Polt > MMA > Mvp > Polt. So I decided Polt and Mvp should be pitted against each other.
Mvp beat Symbol in this season's GSL so I think Seed vs Symbol would be better.

Polt beat Mvp in WCS Korea. :D
Still seems to early to reverse the Terran Triangle based off one Bo3. Maybe if we get more Polt vs Mvp vs MMA with Polt winning versus Mvp it would be time to reverse it.

What the hell happened to Losira? He can't make it back to Code A, can't finish top 10 at MLG. At one point it looked like he had so much potential. He completely fell off the map, except for getting some kills in team leagues sometimes.

He has his days. He was a big part of IM succes in IPL TAC3 during the regular season actually.

Has Inori ever actually won a game for TSL?
He beat something like 5 Code S players to qualify for IEM Cologne but couldn't get out of group stages. He annihilated everybody in his path at MLG Spring Championship (including players like Symbol, Violet, Ryung, and Alive) but can't win a Code A game to save his life. He does well in online leagues and falls apart in the GSL booth. You never know what you're going to get with him.

What was that mind blowing statistic about him, I think it was that he hasn't won a game in the GSL in something like 2 years

I guess one way I can rationalize the poor play was that TSL realized they really had no more point in playing, so just put a half-hearted effort into the games.

Why is it that IM can seemingly pull out any random player now that is capable of beating 2 - 3 establish players in other teams? The sponsorship must have really motivated many of the players to practise harder.
Jeeze all of you are so harsh towards Nestea. Just wait he'll qualify for Code A next season something that none of these lesser known IM players have done in the last 2 years.

Well... You can't deny he has fallen quite a bit. His ZvP and ZvZ are still okay ish, but damn... his ZvT make me cry TT

Polt was "going on"
Really though, true tried to pull a hyun and went for the 3 hatch muta ling bane allin but failed miserably, I don't think he even killed 10 scvs, then polt just counterattacked and there was nothing true could do regardless of infestor numbers
I expect early aggression by Polt against Seed. Polt likes to play aggressive in the early game against really scary late-game Protosses as seen in the games against Creator.
I'm pretty happy to see Polt not scared of going for a bit more cheesy play He was doing full on macro build only for a while in every match up and really started to become predictable

Ironically, Polt was known as a "cheeser" or aggressive player initially in GSL, but he began to play for long-term games later on. Good to see he is returning to his roots, he was becoming very predictable in all leagues.
Oh what's this, the build Polt did against Creator?
Hope Polt can go insane mode. If you lose 3 games to True against IM you are not in a happy place. BTW This TvP harrassment by Polt is sick, he destroyed Creator with it in GSTL.
On October 18 2012 09:52 Sky_ wrote: Wat, how did Polt win? I tuned off once those DTs arrived.
Held off the DTs very well, save for a few excess scans. Went for an attack on Seed's main and traded very well and scouted Colossi coming. Got up a base and continued to tech, macro and build a stronger army, and eventually crushed Seed at his bases.
I keep telling myself "oh, this b-teamer probably has a snipe build prepared, it's IM, they know what they're doing" and then they always end up getting rolled by much better players. I don't know what to believe anymore, I'd think they have gotten better at player picks... then they go ahead and put out horror against polt
On October 18 2012 10:02 ref4 wrote: wow strong build, wonder why not more terrans dont do this
HoRRoR would have most likely defended a lot better had he scouted (which he did not). The Hellion/Marauder builds are not too popular because of how micro-intensive it is.
Why the heck does catspajamas keep repeating a quote from 4chan about 3 different players being horrible, two of which we're watching play. What purpose does that serve?

They ain't horrible, they're just the worse players on IM. And that's somewhat true. Horror and Dreamertt still have pretty good games. Being the worse player in the best team isn't that bad x)

It doesn't really matter for them. They are already through, so they are giving lesser known people experience. Whether they meet EG or MVP doesn't matter that much for them, both teams got similar records in Group A.

Now now, there's still dreamertt and horror
This is the quote from this LR
Okay, sorry, I miss-heard.
Replace the word 4chan with LR thread in my sentence and I am still wondering. I think calling players horrible or the worst in an environment like this is pretty inappropriate. Can you imagine if Horror or Dreamertt heard the commentators for their games discuss how terrible they are before and after their match? I see how they are pointing out how IM clearly isn't trying or something, but it's still... rude?

LOL I remember that episode xD. But I swear I've seen it before in a pro game. I'm think it was Boxer on Tal'darim Altar, I'm tempted to say it was Boxer vs HasuObs in TSL3, but I'm too lazy to check.

Let's be real though, I can't really think of many b-teamers better than IM b-teamers. I know it seems like people are shitting on them a lot, but IM's a-team standards are almost impossible to achieve and there's no shame in being the worst player on the best team

Normally I would answer SlayerS B-Teamers = best B-Teamers, but I guess I can't say that anymore T___T
Honestly though, IM has crazy depth and to give everyone the chances he deserves must be hell for any coach. Hirai did a pretty solid job, although he got lots of foreign hate for it.
dreamertt dropping a manner mule is so cute. it's like you would never expect him to have the opportunity. most of the top players would have like 4 mules ready and he's like I GOT 1 MANNER MULE!!!! congrats to dreamertt, true, and IM!

Alternatively they were not playing their best since they were already eliminated, and IM had already qualified.

dreamertt has always been good vs Z. I remember back when DRG looked unbeatable v T (late 2011), dreamertt beat him in 2 team leagues over a span of 2 weeks(IPL TAC and some other league).

Polt felt sorry for dreamertt and give him some exposure. Unfortunately revival couldn't finish the job.

well the dude's point was that TSL couldn't beat the IM B team because they were too Zerg bases. My point is they could have.

Nice to see Polt get some wins, but seriously wtf, IM only sent out 1 of their top of the line team league players, and still munched TSL. Crazy stuff, I can't see anyone beating them this GSTL season.
