LMAO. Not even the top Korean has been able to do what Stephano has done outside of Korea. He is the highest earning player in 2012 now.

God, you people and you "We will see how he does in GSL". Dumb people everywhere I guess

That's because Stephano attends more tournaments then the Koreans do, Stephano is easily the best foreigner no question about that, but there is probably a good 7-8 koreans who are just as good if not better then him.

No, MC attends much more tourneys than Stephano...

he has the results to back it up.

Not really, he's never won a league. Of course, he's never actually tried to win a GSL or an OSL, but until he does that he really hasn't proven himself to that point: no amount of MLG, IPL and Dreamhack entitles you to be that cocky

Actually the money at "ze bank" entitles you to be that cocky. Since he's a profession that's his goal and he achieves that.

Ok , mate, this is stupid. So Bill Gates can come and say he's the best basketball player , then he points to the bank account to back it up.
Stephano is very good, but you're logic is rubish . And there are too many like you.

If Bill Gates had earned his riches from winning basketball competitions, then yes he could say that.

This would mean that the reward is proportional with the talent, which is obviously not in the scene. I am pretty sure that most koreans that would kick Stephano's ass do worse than him financially. Also there are players that didn't hit top 16 of a tournament in ages, but still do quite well, compared to better, harder working players.
Again, Stephano=good, logic=bad.

Which Koreans?

Oh god it's you again, everytime someone criticizes stephano in any way you pop up out of nowhere to start an argument x_x well have fun

And for an extra thrill, try to figure out his sight line. What was Stephano looking at? It wasn't her face... and the preview screen is on his left.

Still, excellent capture... definite meme material.

GSL isn't lucrative, but it's still multiple orders of magnitudes harder to win than any foreign event. Same goes with OSL. Ultimatelly no, he can't be considered the best (or amongs the top 5-6) until he wins (or does well) in a GSL or an OSL. Doesn't matter how much money he wins in foreign events.

Why do so many people think Stephano can't be good in the GSL, yet players like MKP get so much credit? Maybe not you specifically, but it seems strange, considering MKP hasn't made > R016 in over a year iirc. And the game wasn't very developed back then.

I swear, there's foreigner-lovers and people that absolutely hate them. Naniwa made Ro8 twice in a row and people still considered him bad. It seems like nothing short of a GSL championship will ever "validate" a foreigner. And even then I bet people will come up with excuses as to how they had the easiest opponents ever.

Yet MKP was considered the best player in the world after a few MLG wins. And Taeja was definitely considered the best in the world at IPL TAC3 finals, and is still arguably one of the best players in the world. Yet neither of them have won a GSL. Symbol was hyped up as the best zerg in the world without winning a GSL (before even making Ro4). We have players who have often been called top 5 or 6 for sure, without being too successful in GSL. (MKP for one).

I wouldn't continue trying to make points about logic, after stating that Stephano's tournament winnings relate to his SC2 skill in the same way that Bill Gates' bank account relates to his basketball skill.
