Hyuk was pretty fail most of the time, I think near the end of his career he was mainly a ZvZ sniper.
That's not surprising because he was also the team captain during that season.
He did have his moments though, like all killing STX.
All in all, he got sent out a lot but didn't have a lot of success (not like MC type fail but also not at 50% win rate level).

IEM's competition was actually pretty good, Mvp dodged a lot of the better players though. he beat three foreigner zergs from the ro8 to finals. Everyone else in the tournament also lost to these foreigner zergs so I don't think It's to be dismissed.
Supernova, ForGG, MC, Nestea, Oz, couple others maybe.

Well there were a bunch of strong/decent Koreans in there too so it wasn't that bad. Forgg, Supernova, Violet, MC and some others. Not a big tournament but $5k isn't anything to scoff at for a weekend's work

Eh, actually Hyuk is / was pretty awful. :p He's always been super inconsistent, getting some really unlikely wins against big names, then hyuking it horribly (yes, his name was made into a synonym for throwing) against someone terrible. He's had something like 35% winrates in ZvT/ZvZ :p
It's not that he was like bad at micro / macro or something, just had these really weird decisions reminiscent of early Fantasy - it'd look brilliant when it works, but just utterly stupid if it doesn't - and for him, it didn't work very often. :p
