the way i was reading the brackets, leenock had not dropped a series and the stc came from the losers bracket. the stc won the first bo3, putting each player with 1 set dropped. how come then did leenock have the start a bo7 DOWN 2-1? if a third best of 3 shoudlve been started from 0-0 or leenock has to get dropped to play taeja in the next step of the "losers bracket" and go on from there. it just seemed like leenock had to play from a disadvantage even though he came out of his group...once the stc was up 2-1 they both had dropped sets and shoudlve been on even terms

The only place he can drop to is back into that match, where extended series happen if it's in the same phase of the tournament. If it was 2-1 then a new Bo3 and Leenock wins then it's suddenly 1-1. Leenock didn't beat theSTC fully then, leaving us with a terrible decision for him to go forward. Then if we have 3 Bo3's to determine who goes to the finals and it's 9 games, what happens if Leenock loses due to exhaustion of 9 games straight? Extended Series is the right decision in this.

Putting down another game to make them feel better about themselves. They simply don't like it. Even though its the wrong forum. Mob mentality. 3. Pissed off about teams doing it and saying it deters the competitive nature of video games and history repeats itself. 4. People are immature and they don't know how to drop it. I'm sure I could think of a lot more, but I'll stop right there.

That wouldn't exactly be terrible, as that's just the advantage the Winners Bracket player would have in a true Double Elimination Bo3 finals. From what I read on TL, most people are okay with the WB player being allowed to win with a 2-2 or 2-3 total record there, as the series are two distinct events in that format. As I stated earlier, a true DE bo3 final gives 75% equity to the WB player assuming 50/50 games, which is kind of high IMO. MLG's bo3->extended Bo7 (if necessary) format gives the WB player 62.5% equity. The amusing thing is that there have been comments in this thread stating MLG's format is imba for each side, so perhaps they're doing something right.
