a few fungals won the game :/

I have never seen terrans who build a bunker next to their late game bases. It just takes 100 minerals and 4 marines to eliminate anything short of the entire zerg army. If Byun had secured the fifth base, he probably could have won.

I think the bad engagement defending his 4th in the southeast was what lost it for him though, he had a 50 supply lead there for a bit. Fungals is what lost him the game. Not preemptively splitting his Vikings twice.

Without a lot of vikings Broodlords turn into GGlord.

I still want to see this BC/Raven composition that supposedly is the "answer" to late game ZvT.

Don't be sorry, you're doing an amazing job, thanks !
Btw, sad that after what seemed like an amazing play from Byun, he still loses...
I really dislike the zerg lategame. I feel that the Terran must not make ANY mistake once BL/festors are out....
Terrans really need an AoE spell that works against other things than casters... ~~

So can Byun still get through? If he wins the losers match and beats the loser of the winners match right?

What happened to his Raven/BC end-game solution to late game tvz?

IMO Byun made a bad decision by taking the 6 o clock base instead of the 9: if Symbol attacked that, he could have taken out The only zerg mining base at 3. Taking the 6 allowed Symbol to attack the terran expo with BL defending his own 3 o'clock.
That's actually a really great point. Still though, Fungal is a pretty good spell.
This is the type of game that will get more people in Korea to notice SC2 though. Well played, fantastic game even if Byun didn't win.

Probably thought that he had the whole game in in the bag, as it was only two infestors with the army. But that's all it takes to destroy viking fleet with the aid of couple of immotalcuptors flying around.
Just like 1 mothership + 3 archons can kill 25broodlords in 2seconds. The only thing he needed to do that fight was to split his vikings to win the match. Just like the only thing 25 broodlords vs a mothership needs to do is don't get all vortex'd.

He has to beat San and then either DRG or Symbol so its certainly not an easy rode.

Mvp did it once.

Yeah Vikings should've been split up better but still fungaled once = dead Anti-Air and probably lost game is just a bad mechanic , way too unforgiving that way.

it was. I think those late game player are way more confident on Whirlwind/Metropolis now where you have the eco to transition into sky terran.
