Interesting to look at the invited/qualified player split at different stages of the tournament:

Ro16: 11 invited, 5 qualified
Ro8: 3 invited, 5 qualified
Ro4: 1 invited, 3 qualified
Ro2: 0 invited, 2 qualified
Maybe the balance of invited/qualified should be rethought for HSCVI? As it is, the qualified players just rolled.

more qualifiers, less invites would be great obviously

thank god take is smart enough not to listen to such nonsense.

take away the the personalities and you have a shit version of mlg/ipl/nasl.

lol, some people actualy want to see high quality games and not god awful players like destiny and incontrol going 0-3 in their groups.

thats the reason why GSL is best tournament about.

I must say that I was extremely surprised by Happy, he wasn´t attending any HSC before, but he was great (playing and casting). Mana is always a welcome addition and Tarson, Dimaga (Grubby, too, he didn´t attend, sadly) are a must IMHO, they really live what the HSC is all about.

happy must attend every hsc in the future, he's one funny caster, didn't expect that from him

Yes, and those people can watch GSL and other tournaments for that. Homestory cup is about much more than just having the best players around.

Ummm HSC isn't going for GSL style. HSC wouldn't be nearly as good if they did.

There are a hundred tournaments that are focussed on having the best players. It's never been the point of Homestory Cup it's all about the community spirit and having interesting players with casting.

GSL, GSTL, IPL, MLG, DH, TSL, and the list goes on ... don't you have enough ? Why would HSC try to offer the same kind of content ? TaKe found his very own niche and people enjoy it.

You sir missed the point of HSC. Fun and good time first and SC2 second Pretty refreshing to that GSL, MLG, IPL, ESL serious business stuff.

HSC simply does not want to be like the GSL. They are trying to occupy a different niche, that is their "trick" to not die to MLG, GSL, DH, etc., by simply not competing with those tournaments. I want to have both types of tournaments. It is more fun with the tournaments feeling different. Personally, I like HSC better and watched all of it, while barely watching GSL and feeling no urge to buy the VODs. I would miss HSC if it were gone, but if one of the "normal" tournaments would be gone, I would probably not even notice by myself.

even if hsc had the best players in the world and it was all serious it would not do as well, the reason people like hsc is because its different, and it can only thrive that way.

Dude. The whole idea behind homestory is to gather players, let them dick around in TaKe's apartment and give them the chance to win some money while still having fun.
