Why is it so hard for people to say, well that was a 2-1 series and it was pretty close game between two really strong PvP players.

Of course you dont. Genius soooooooo completely owned Naniwa it was just silly!!!!!! The previous 0-3 record in GSL to Naniwa clearly says that there is a huuuuuuuuuugh difference between them.

And what is this Global Standard!

GSL is the Global Standard. They are the best of the best, the highest level of SC2 and the most prestigious SC2 tournament in the world.

I love how Naniwa always badmouths other players and now he fails so hard

wow what a failure in the round of 16 in the hardest tournament in the world. He's so bad.

wait what?

Haters gonna hate. This Season Naniwa is top 16 in the world. People will call him a loser and a failure because he wasn't able to win it all.
But luckily there are peolpe like you and me, and we know better than that!

He can still advance tho.. right?

It's better if you start with a win, but yes, he can still advance. He did it in RO 32 and he can do it in Ro16 as well.

For PvP Cloud Kingdom is a very poor map if one player goes Blink and the other Robo, the amount of flexibility the blink players has is just insane. Genius picked the right build for the map and Naniwa didn't, but it was still a meh build order loss game.

If that observer gets sniped, Genius has no flexibility at all and Naniwa has enough units to defend at the front until the next observer comes. I understand how in-game it sees really risky to build an observer in those moments, but with the decreased build time and chrono boost, it could have been a life saver. Naniwa just needed a little more time to stabilize so he could defend both his main and natural fairly efficiently. Blink is obviously great on Cloud Kingdom, but i don't think that was a complete loss from the outset at all. Both players played well, but if you're the FEing player, you have to play even better and Naniwa wasn't quite able to.

It's super risky though, especially when you don't have Blink. If Genius controls his observer well its really hard, if not impossible. Chronoboosting out Inmortals and hoping you have enough inmortals to just overpower the blink stalker army is in that situation I think a 'safer' option.

lol people are calling that BO loss? immortals are pretty good against stalkers guys. it was the fact that naniwa kept letting genius blink into his main. he lost like 20 probes that way.

and how exactly was naniwa supposed to prevent it? you cant snipe the obs when it's controlled well and when he puts a lot of units in his main, genius will just kill probes/units at the natural. you can always do a shit lot of damage with blink obs vs 2 gate robo into expansion. simply not the best build order choice by naniwa for this map.

well tastetosis did mention that genius overextended with his obs so if naniwa made an obs earlier he could have sniped genius's obs and put an end to the blinking into the main, at least for a long time.

I think Naniwa felt it was a all-in and not expand afterwards, probably the reason why he wanted those immortals instead of the observer. However that was not the case and Naniwa probably misread. I think if Naniwa had a hidden probe on the map so that he could perhaps sneak it by Genius natural and base plus put down proxy pylon would be the absolute best for him.

How do you want him to have a probe on the map ? he doesn't scout.

Well, he could have it out anytime before the pressure starts. Doesn't need to be early scout or so but just before the real timings begin like 4 gate and such ones.

short of sniping the observer he could have left a couple zealots and an immortal on the high ground to inflict heavy losses as soon as genius blinks up. once he had 3 immortals out you can definitely afford to do this and still hold your natural.
remember not to think too much and your trip will be numbingly pleasant

ggs by genius though. i picked him and nani to get out, so im happy.

barely ? he crushed him in game 1 and 3. you don't know shit

The bias is heavy in this one.

How is it bias? Game one was a total build order win, while game three Genius toyed around with Naniwa with his blink. Pretty delusional to say otherwise.

You can be pretty sure people saying Genius owned Nani is just backlash from Nani fans talking about him outclassing Genius in game 2 xD

And Genius 4-0'd Nani in their NASL showmatch so I'm pretty sure they are fairly well matched, it just comes down a lot to builds and who plays better on a given day.
