if IM preparation for this event was up to Proleague standards, they'd have two guys with special cheesy builds designed specifically to take out Taeja. that kind of thing is what made PL so much fun to watch. you get a "benchwarmer" coming out against an ace and the benchwarmer whips out some insanely clever cheese that the coaches spent a week coming up with and the benchwarmer practiced 900 times in a row that week in practice. and sometimes it works ! ! ! !

just me or has there been a lack of good cheese in SC2 lately? I've seen some cannon rushes and there's always the occasional 6pool...am I missing something? can anyone recommend some sick cheeses in competitive top-level play?

well Taejas TvP is sick, so I think he's the right player for the job. Right call to send him in.

I have a crystal ball and I can see the future. You guys will not BELIEVE whats going to happen. Taeja is going to lose this match and we're all going to be like "Oh noez TL is ded" but then they announce the next player, out comes a shadowy figure hiding his face. He sits down
its jinro

Jinro surprise comes out of retirement and kills Seed, MVP, Nestea, Losira and Happy then kicks over the booth table and flies out of the venue with a jet pack.

Sending out Seed first is actually a really good decision by the IM coach. Seed's PvP has been proven to be absolutely stellar, whilst that of HerO is pretty meh. His PvZ is some of the best in the world, and TL doesn't really have a zerg who will be able to take a game off him. Taeja is the only real threat to Seed, and what a threat it is.....

So basically, if Seed wins this next game there's almost not a single way IM loses this.

If seed falls I'd bet on Nestea coming out next.

- Not the ace match which he apparently doesn't want to play (nor should he play!)

- He's someone who strikes me as a sniper

- He has something to prove after failing his team twice in gstl

HoSeo did that against TSL after beating Polt.

Worked well.

Omfg, yes, make it happen. It'd be so awesome

Although HerO's feelings would get hurt :/

And then he'll get angry and all kill them twice. And then walk out.

Thinking about it. It's pretty smart but banking on some things to go ridiculously their way.

If Taeja comes out and grabs the all-kill it preserves the rest of the teams strats for the second BO9.

Losira is reportedly one of IM's planned snipers for TaeJa

5 minute countdown to the next break.

Anyways, just making sure:

Since IM came from the winner's bracket and Liquid came from the loser's bracket, IM only has to win one Bo9 and Liquid has to win two Bo9s, right?

That's what this means...

Format
A best-of-nine All-Kill Format between two teams with five players on each side. After each game, the losing team picks the map and their next player.
Tournament format is a true double elimination tournament. Meaning that the winner of the Losers' Bracket must win two best-of-9 series against the winner of the Winners' Bracket grand final to win.

Taeja is the ace of Liquid. I don't say it doesn't make sense but I would think IM has one or two playere prepared to beat TaeJa. Seed is an amazing player and I feel there are not a lot of players on Liquid that could be a threat to him in a straight up game, but that was known beforehand. I personally would have thought they would have a sniper to face Seed which is not TaeJa.

If Taeja does lose now, the chances to win are next to nothing.
