It does from Blizzards perspective, which spends a huge amount of money to bring us this tournament. While the professional scene (the players, not the companies) is not the most significant one in EU (behind Sweden, Ukraine and Poland), the general player and viewer base is higher. There are a lot of German GM and High Master player, but only one of them is a Top 10 foreigner (Socke) and a handful are in the next tier (Hasu, DF, Goody, TLO, etc.). This has to do with the low amount of true professional players in difference to Sweden (higher cultural acceptance of Esport) and countries in Eastern EU (lower living standard, thus more reason to play professional). | ||
