Dimaga and MorroW delivered some stellar ZvP too, but unfortunately toss is now reverting to the MinChul solution for late game PvZ "weakness": Don't play long games. It's kinda sad to be honest. I actually think it's above all else due to the prevalence of 3 base strategies in the last few months that these 2 base all ins seem to succeed so much now, so I think this rampant 2-basing will go away with time. It'll ofc be there, but it won't be the go-to strategy in the next big event for toss. More than anything, I think it shows that you can't simply "ignore the metagame". Even me, as a lowly noob player, knew about how powerful this 2-base timing is against unprepared zergs after MLG... and ALL Tournament, zergs kept using the same builds that work well against early 3-base toss styles and are weak to this 2-base timing. All these zerg losses aren't to an "unfair build" it's due to them not adapting to the shifting metagame. As soon as zergs start using a different, safer opening, the 2-base timing will fall out of flavor. I was just really surprised how many top zergs like Stephano stuck with their old builds and didn't bring anything new. I'm wondering how much these top players actually payed attention to what SaSa was doing at MLG... I'm pleased with these results. Preparation and metagame awareness should be rewarded. You shouldn't be able to have success by continuing with the same build that has been proven weak to what they should've expected. | ||
