In my experience it's not that great, unless you manage to get multiple stargates unscouted. Nixes and voids don't kill overlords fast enough, and even dropping half the banes is enough to annihilate your ground army + a base or two worth of mining probes. And then the zerg can simply follow up with a suitable composition against stargate units.

Er I see tosses win late game all the time and today (or yesterday) I have seen protosses win in the late game multiple times. So no tosses don't only have to warpgate all in or sentry/immortal all ins, they just prefer it because they don't have to do much but focus on that one army and if it dies they lose, if they kill zerg army they win.

Fraer is fast becoming a Protoss Stephano.
He came out of the same EU online cup leagues where Stephano initially made his name, and is making runs that remind me of what Stephano used to do. His ladder record is getting better day by day, and he's achieving the win rates on EU GM that Stephano had during his breakout period.
To those who thought that EU online cups were low skill minor leagues - DH Summer 2012 is a slap in the face. All the four players remaining were EU online cup regulars, and they all practice outside of Korea.

PvP's have been fun today, where as PvZ's have been pretty terrible. I'm cheering for Fraer anyway but I think i'd prefer a PvP final

I really thought Naniwa or Sase would make it to the finals, would have been so perfect to have a swede in the first televised starcraft match in Sweden. Now I'm rooting for dimaga, a PvP where one of the players is fairly unknown would be so anticlimatic for such a big occasion.

To be quite frank, those 2 gate all ins are at their most powerful when they are mixed with delayed 3rd base strategies that aim for the later game. You force your opponent to pay attention and make units at the wrong time, in a way that complements your longer strategies.

But opening up with a few phoenixes just heavily discourages zerg from doing anything much with overlords.
