And you and all of your kind do have to post this crap every time, every single tournament, why? Nobody ever posts saying they are not watching anymore, unless when the last white guy is knocked out. I'd like to understand why.
Does it feel better to throw a meaningless bitter jab to show that foreigners' pride is still there, even if their skills are not? Is it some kind of "you will have your prestige, money, and whatever comes with skill, but never popularity, unless you look like one of us" protest? Or maybe "A Korean may have won, but foreigners won in our hearts" statement? Which one is it?

It would be the same scenario if there was a Korean white / mixed guy who was a top Starcraft player. I don't think "race" has anything to do with it. People just like to see top players from outside Korea, because they've typically been the underdogs.

Oh c'mon, I also root for foreigners and would like to see them do well and winning it all. I am glad for SaSe, Grubby, Socke, Stephano... It doesn't mean I wouldn't watch Korean scene or anything - in fact I have that monthly subscription and watch every GS(T)L VoD I just love to see foreigners winning (or you could say underdogs... that's why I root for Alicia now)
On the other hand, Alicia gogogo fighting! :-)

It's not that, I'm super excited everytime I can see MKP against DRG, but we know Alicia will lose, and the finals starts at 2:0 because of extended series, so it's less exciting sadly.

If MLG was just a Bo500 between DRG and MKP played over 3 days, it would be way way better than any other tournament ever Sundance needs to make that happen. Bo501 would be better.
No, then one of them has to lose

I have absolutely no idea how you came to that conclusion, Valikyr Unfortunately my players lost earlier today, but I think I'll enjoy this top3. The level of play will compensate for their absence.

Yeah, it's like they're not there for the game but for who is playing it.Maybe the players should have flags instead of names =/. Or maybe we are fans of certain people. The way SC2 is presented to us it is essentially like a country vs country thing(In this case Korea vs Everyone Else, so we end up cheering for the everyone else, the underdog. MKP vs DRG will get a lot of attention but do you blame people? Does everyone watch Olympic events that dont involve your country? Every Olympic event? Doubtful in most cases.

Your [JYP] PvT is rather terrible with a 9% win rate.

I too agree that people being racists is bad for e-sport. But the quality of play is almost at the same level when we are talking about Stephano, SaSe and Socke compared to koreans so it doesn't really matter. So personally the only reason I'd root for a foreigner is because the are the underdogs and because SaSe is Swedish.

They really need to have another look at the tournament structure. Not only does someone going through the losers bracket have to exhaust themselves to make it; Extended Series rules are just crap.

He is doing significantly better in Korean PvT getting his record up to 8-29. It used to even worse than that so thats all that need be said.

It would be pretty amusing if they went 250-250

Doens't change the fact that everyone is tuning out except the hardcore SC2 crowd. I'll continue watching, but most people won't. Just a fact. Unless I've been totally misinformed, GSL gets well over 100,000 viewers every broadcast. I think there are enough people who value quality games over seeing white people that there will be more than 8 viewers.
Exactly, people get their Korean fix from the GSL.

The only word that comes to mind seeing comments like this is "racist". So everyone who watches the Olympics for certain countries is a racist. While I dont agree with the racist comment. How can you even compare those two? At the Olympics its mostly about nations. In Starcraft its purely about the players. At least it should be. Depends. The people that are /really/ into, say, Athletics should watch for the athletes, not for the US flag. The Olympics should (and are meant to be) about the individual athletes, not about the country they represent.
We all know that it doesn't work like that in practice, though.
And seriously, do you guys really think StarCraft would be popular in Korea if on average only 1 player per OSL was Korean? The fact that a surge in popularity of figure skating in Korea around 2008 and the emergence of Kim Yu Na happened at the same time must just be a coincidence and the only reason Koreans started caring is because the level of competition went up, right?
