If you come to watch sc2 tournaments so you can pump your chest about the crowd and the scene and not actually take a objective look at the quality of the games than I advise you to stop watching and wasting your time. Thats why people are mad, we are examining the quality of games and contrasting them to Lol and heavily favoring Starcraft 2. Despite that Lol still has much more popularity mainly due to people wanting everything to be nice, easy and casual. Call it subjective but even from an objective point of view I still cannot appreciate any aspects of League.

I think only Rain can challenge him for that and he has to beat Stephano, Ganzi and JYP to win the Group. Anything less by Rain and Stephano wins the Group. A good chance? If Stephano doesn't win his group hell will freeze over and lightning bolts will shoot from my arse ![]()

Call it elitism if you want but I just find it baffling that people can watch such a hollow game as opposed to much better games such as Dota (Way better then Lol by a longshot) and SC. I see your SC2 elitism and raise you BW elitism. Seriously. Don't drag this thread into a SC2 vs LoL debate.

I think it takes higher caliber play to make Sc2 fans excited nowadays. At least that's how it is for me. I haven't seen every game, but the most exciting game by far for me this tournament was Leenock vs Violet game 2. Agree about the GSL, the games have been pretty great lately. I think MLG's problem is they are basically GSL with a weaker player pool over the course of a weekend with a few foreigners mixed in, and very little EU representation other than players on big teams. I'm far more excited for Dreamhack these days just because of all the EU talent that doesn't travel to NA for NA events. Plus their production is amazing for the semis/finals. Weekend tournaments need some flair, the Kespa tournament is great but where has the coverage of the kespa players been up to this point? They need to give someone a camera and follow them around to stream it, people would be interested in that. The lani-cam at IPL4 was one of the more exciting things about the tournament.

But hey, because Polt is good in bad situations, he could make a huge comeback in the Championship Bracket. Also, he really could have won his series against Alicia/Stephano. His SCV command mishap in G2 vs. Stephano put him super behind instead of being in a great position, and then he got countered when he went super greedy in G3. He beat Alicia in a long game in G1 of their series, but then lost the next two games to a two base sentry/stalker push and a six gate all-in that countered his cloaked banshee opening. Again, not worried until he loses to JYP.
