West coast is bad time zone, even for the rest of the USA. Are you comparing this to day 1 of it? I saw less hype for the start date myself this time. I expect it to pick up. I searched for the winter champs day 1 thread and got this 6879 414142 replies/views, this thread has way less which is why I was confused. That thread has been around a lot longer, plus the day isn't yet done. yeah very true, I dunno I just feel like general interest in sc2 is starting to fall off and it makes me sad. Doubt it. Heart of the Swarm beta is coming out soon and there are more tournaments and showmatches than ever on the teamliquid calendar. There is always something going on, be it a major tournament or a showmatch between a couple relative no-name semipros. Maybe it's just becoming a bit stale for some people, to the casual viewer there really isn't too much new going on. A lot of the matchups look the same no matter who is playing. HotS seems like it has a lot more potential for interesting engagements and harassment which will catch people's attention for sure. I lost interest in SC2 for a while, got into DotA 2 and Diablo 3. HotS is going to send me back for a while, the new units look cool. Yeah, at the moment I really only watch tournaments that interest me (generally ones with MC) and the GSL. I watch Diablo 3 streams to see who will clear HC first, occasionally HoN streams, because the game really has become stale IMO. I've seen too much of Wings of Liberty. But if I was able to go to Anaheim I would be there for sure going crazy. I find HoN infinitely more fun to watch than LoL personally, too bad that never took off. LoL's business model was too good. I just hope sc2 doesn't lose too many viewers or we may lose some tournaments like ipl/nasl/esl before hots comes out. I think over saturation of content was a big part in burning people out on spectating. Na other e-sports burn as many games also, the meta-game is less figured out in those games, making it more unpredictable.

Thank you aLive! and I'm so happy for Ryung, completely manhandling ViOlet so far this series, knowing him he'll derp it sometime soon but just imagine if he had a single raven with this timing. Very interesting hellion play.

I've felt like that too, but when you look at average IPL viewers its up from the past two seasons, so I still have hope. It's pretty much the worst timezone possible( ends at 3am in New York, worse for international streams). I would wait for tomorrow's number to make any conclusions. HOTS will bring in new/old viewers too
