Next Sunday at 1 PM EDT will mark the final tournament of the CyberActiv WCS Initiative, giving away the last 2 qualifying spots. This tournament will pit Canada’s 6 closest-to-qualify players. These players were so close to winning their qualifying spots but sadly didn’t manage to do it. These 6 players will fight against each other in 2 phases :
Pool play : All 6 will fight each other in Best of 3 series. The top 4 will qualify for phase 2. Spots : According to their ranking in phase 1, the top 4 will remain and will fight for the 2 last spots. #1 will fight #4 and #2 will fight against #3. These 2 series will be Best of 5s. The winner of those series will each earn themselves a spot into the Canadian finals! Also to mention that winners will receive free flight and lodging from Blizzard!
To make this a completely cross-country experience, i’m trying to reach out to all the community casters through the country to give all of them a chance to be heard! The objective is to unify the scene and give a huge family feeling. If you haven’t been contacted by me specifically for this and you are a caster, contact me here by PM, on twitter at @CDesaulniers, by skype at charlesdesaulniers or by email at charles@cyberactiv.ca
All in all, this tournament should be enjoyable to watch for everybody and i hope that everyone has fun. After all, it should be pretty high level. Here are the players : -NMxStyx -OGKelly -colRyze -vVvHasuu -KsChacal -iMpMagic
The english stream will be helmed by not other than Psylence! The French Stream will be helmed by Team Killing Spree's KsKadium!
Hoping to see all of you in the stream chat, i'm hoping for some really nice matches! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Updates :

So just to clarify, there is 8 spots from CyberActiv qualifiers and 4 from CSL for total of 12? I don't recall seeing any other ones

There will be something like 12 (or 8?) invites as well. Based off previous information that I have read, there is supposed to be 32 players at the Canadian Championship but I don't know if that is completely correct or where the extra spots are coming from. The invite list has not been released yet (to my knowledge).
Edit: Torte answered below, he knows what's up!

Yes. Others have been directly invited to play.

OGBuzzbin sadly can't come due to moving. He will be replaced by OGKelly, team mate and #5 at BaseLAN
|
Will try to tune in. Definitely rooting for my man KsChacal!!!
|
NXxStyx will be taking his teammate's spot since Faggle is taking an SC2 Hyatius and his past performance in 2 online qualifiers

And there we go, all the rules are up on the Binary Beast Page! See you in the chat Sunday!

Major hype incoming in 80 minutes !
Very happy that problems with XSplit are solved so i'll be able to stream HD on the french cast as well.
Confirmed co-casters : - Dolmyr - KsElemental - KsYamo for the finals (or before if someone has to leave.)
In that order, but without a strict timeframe.
Thanks for giving us this tounament CyberActiv !
I'll be neutral as usual but a part of me has fingers crossed for my teammate KsChacal !! You have the whole team behind you, friend ! Will check out your games for sure !!

Plus Slush maybe Scarlett will probably get invites for the swarm along with HuK (and Kiwi but he might not accept it). Need to see some terrans in here.
Wow... Don't know if I've ever uttered THAT sentence before.

The way I understood it during the stream yesterday, there's a Blizzard invitational tournament hosted by Playhem to get 6 more spots for Canada and 2 invites based on ladder rank.
Hopefully we get some variety through that.

Oooh ok. Do we know when that is?
Also I think the only Canadian terran of note is DDE
Other Canadians of note: Desrow (Toss), TT1 (Toss).
Do we know how many of the 16 qualify for Continentals? I know 16 Americans qualify, but that's out of a bracket of 64. So given that math I suppose... 4 Canadians?

Supposedly 4, but that doesn't add up to me. 16 Americans + 4 Canadians + 4 Mexicans = 24, which makes for a messy tournament. I feel like they need another 8 players.
