What is embarrassing is people who are not professionals thinking they know what the professionals should and shouldn't do with their spare time.

One thing I know for sure is that they should be practicing the game they play and not a different game. I don't have to be a professional to tell you that.

I guess basketball players should never play catch with their kids because that's baseball?

Yeaaaah. Professionals of anything are allowed to use their free time as they wish. Would you like to pull 14 hour shifts at your job only broken up by eating and sleeping? =/

Sports is really different because I am quite certain that Korean Starcraft is the only thing where people actually practice this much lol
Life has won two GSLs and a Blizzard Cup. NOT three GSLs.

Practise never betrays! I expect a better performance once the TL players practise seriously, I think most of them were still in vacation mode with several of them just having arrived in Korea (as seen in Dario's blog).
Come to think of it, it would've been really sad if Zenex had lost, haha... I think the team who trained harder won this series, that's all there is to it.

TL all killed by a 15 year old. Pretty embarrassing start to this season. I will still cheer for TL but I think we all need to lower our expectations.

The only one who just arrived is TLO. HayprO returned to Korea in mid-January (almost 5 months ago), Jinro has been living there for almost two years now, and for HerO and Zenio it's their home country. Zenio played alright, even won a game. HerO's loss was misfortunate. TLO showed a lot of effort despite only having arrived recently.

HayprO and Jinro are the ones that really need to step up their game and practice as GSTL is after all the premier team league with fierce competition, and I doubt they did not know that. I realize there was some downtime because of finding and moving to the new place, but they should make the most out of their stay in Korea (the mecca of Starcraft talent) when it comes to their SC2 progamer career. So far, however, it does seem more like a vacation seeing the results, I agree. Will cross my fingers for things to improve.

That means he has less experience with RTS games in general than most other progamers. Most of TL is in their twenties, meaning even if they've been playing SC2 for just as long as this kid has, they've probably been playing games in general for another 7 or 8.

that's the dumbest shit i've ever heard. so getting all killed by Leenock, Maru, or creator, or even a young flash in his day would be any different? makes no sense.

edit: and who the fuck knows how long he's been playing? i'm sure none of you know him personally...

actually it does make sense. do you watch GSL? cus when leenock, maru, and creator first enjoyed success in GSL and performed well, their young age was a major focus. their success despite such a young age put them in the spot light and got them a lotta attention. it doesnt matter how skilled these younger players actually are or how much they practice, losing to kids is always embarassing for older gamers.

I think we're being too hard on team liquid. Lets take a step back and analyse what happened.

Zenex came into this match with 2wins, 8 losses, and they've lost all of their top players to other teams like Taeja (ironically now on tl), puzzle, hack and of course Genius. Despite being one of the weakest teams in the gstl with a lineup being completely stripped of their top players they easily dismantled teamliquid.

Actually, on second thought I think TL's only hope is to recruit 3-4 more koreans to complement hero, zenio and taeja.
