Kas is extremely good, and in my mind just as good as Thorzain.

Big win incoming for him.

...Anyways, nothing to lose for Scarlett, just do your best thats all.

kas is a bulldozer, he will never allow that if he's playing serious. GL to Scarlett, she will need some.

Kas ain't that solid. Scarlett 5-1.

Kas 3-2 Zenio, former code S player

I always find it so stupid when people make post like this. Kas is a professional Sc2 player playing in countless tournament, sooner or later he's going to beat a Korean player after approaching two years of professional play.

It really doesn't count for much of anything if you beat a Korean once or twice when your overall record against Korean is way, way, way under 50% like Kas's is.

You make it sound like Kas beating a Korean is attributable to luck. There are many professional foreign players who have basically never beaten a Korean player before. Besides, Kas' record vs. Koreans is not "way, way, way under 50 %"
Looking at his TLPD you will find that he has a pretty decent record against many Koreans, among:

MKP 2-0 in favor of Kas (in an offline setting too, WCG)
Zenio 5-4 in favor of Kas
Lucky 2-1 in favor of Kas
Puma 1-4 in favor of Puma
Gumiho 1-2 in favor of Gumiho
3-0 Nada in favor of Kas

As you can see, his record against good Koreans is quite respectable. I wouldn't say he is a favorite against Code S/A Koreans, but he can certainly put up a fight against even the best.

Most foreigners have beaten a Korean player. I'd say well over half of the 'known' foreigners who regularly attend LAN's have beaten a decent Korean on LAN.

Kas's wins obviously weren't luck, but his record is (included only LAN events):
vs Supernova 1-2 LOSS
vs Puma 1-2 LOSS
vs Zenio 3-2 WIN
vs Zenio 2-0 WIN
vs MVP 0-2 LOSS
vs MKP 2-0 WIN
vs MC 0-2 LOSS
vs MC 0-4 LOSS

So 3 wins, 5 losses. 9 maps won, 14 maps lost. Overall win rate of 38% on LAN. Which is well short of 50% and really not impressive. I'll admit though that this is a small sample size, so small that Zenio is a massive increase of his win rate (who is awful vs Terran) and MC massively increases his losses.

So if we use the more unreliable results of online tournaments we get.

vs Hyun 1-3 LOSS
vs Zenio 0-2 LOSS
vs Select 0-3 LOSS
vs Squirtle 3-2 WIN
vs Gumiho 1-2 LOSS
vs Lucky 2-1 WIN
vs Jjakji 0-3 LOSS
vs Supernova 1-2 LOSS
vs Real 0-2 LOSS
vs Heart 0-2 LOSS
vs ASD 1-0 WIN
vs Puma 1-2 LOSS
vs Inori 2-0 WIN
vs Creator 0-1 LOSS
vs Zenio 3-2 WIN
vs Zenio 2-0 WIN

That's his 2012 results against Korean players. (apologies if I made a mistake and missed a game).

Which means he's won 15 maps and lost 27 maps. Giving him a win rate of 36% vs Koreans in 2012. Which I think most people would agree isn't good and is well shy of the 50% mark, just like I said.

So as I originally stated Kas is clearly a guy who is capable of beating Koreans some of the time, but he loses to them far more than he wins. So bragging about his wins over Koreans is really, really weird when actually he has a weak record overall. Anyone can cherry pick a result and pretend it makes a player consistent vs top players or likely to beat them (Goody vs Nestea, Idra vs Bomber), but it doesn't mean much if most of your other results vs Korean are losses.

I really like Kas as a person, but I will tune in a root for Scarlett. I'm interested to see if her skill is still progressing.

It is impressive for a foreign player, however many people cherry pick his victories against MKP and such, concluding that he is a Code A or even S caliber player. I doubt anyone is actually saying that Kas is not a great player.

Because most of his map wins were against Zenio in TvZ and because it's around the same record as TheBest, Maka and other players most people consider terrible.

Next show match should be Naniwa vs Idra. It would be an interesting match up because they would both be playing against their worse race.

Kas will roll her... I think there is far too much hype around Scarlett. Here is what has done at LANs.

  • Beat Bumblebee in ZvZ with a baneling bust. Not to mention that Bumblebee has a 21.43% winrate in 2012 in Korea.
  • Beat Ddoro, a mid tier Protoss at best who in 2012 has a record of 42% in internation, which is I suppose not horrible.
  • Beat Oz once in a Bo3 which I will admit is good.
  • Beat DeMuslim, however she accidentally built an evo chamber instead of a spawning pool, DeMuslim decided to be nice and left the game, giving her one win and then she won the second game.

I won't comment on her games with Phoenix as I never actually seen those games and I personally do not know much about Phoenix.

Overall she is doing ok yeah but she is certainly not going to become the next zerg bonjwa like some people here seem to think. Best NA zerg? I do not think so.

This should be a good showmatch no doubt, Scarlett's ZvT is her best MU and of course KaS is one of THE most solid European Terrans. I hope for a close one ^^ 5-3 or 5-4 Kas, but Scarlett could surprise.

She also beat Zenex Avenge in one of the IPL TL qualifiers. No one is saying that she is the next bonjwa. Kas fans just seem taken aback that Scarlett fans want her to win...

This is a showmatch I'm looking forward to. I expect Kas to take it as he's just a very solid player overall (and a bit underrated by many), but I don't think it'll be a landslide victory. Something like 5-2 or 5-3.

First DeMuslim regamed. She won two straight up games against him. Second zero people have called her the next zerg bonjwa, you just set up a straw man. Lastly there aren't that many great NA zergs, I think you would even admit she is at least top 5 NA zerg and someone arguing that she is top 3 isn't much of a stretch. Hyping her as the best NA zerg isn't that crazy until further notice IMO.

Oz played garbage in that one game. Beating DeMusliM is pretty nice but it wasn't all that sick.

Scarlett has hype because she's a good female player and because she's transgender. Her skill performance was far less than Quantic.Illusion who's like 16 years old and beat Code S players in their best match-up but he barely got noticed.
