If you look up from your monitor, you don't say "And, wow, I just looked up from my monitor and...(2 second pause)...the convention center has at least tripled in size!" Such a syntactically awful sentence would be forgivable if he was actually registering what looked like genuine surprise, but he wasn't. He was just trying to fill time and create a transition, and if you're doing that you need to have a brain that works fast enough for you to sound like you're actually good at using words. | ||
