Vs Protoss it isn't because of the cost, but because losing even a single production cycle from a reactored Starport can cost you the game, since Medivac and Vikings are essential in the midgame. | ||

Because in TvT it's not rare to get an early techlab starport. Banshee are the best against Terran because you can actually micro against Marines. And you need the Raven PDD to not die against marauder anyway if you're going mech. While in TvZ, Raven are good because they detect ( which scan does better ), PDD is almost useless against Zerg and vs Protoss it only work against stalker which protoss want to build the less possible amount anyway. And in TvT you can actually go for a build that doesn't requiere medivacs, so no need to rush for a reactor. | ||
