Guess they won't a Korea/Stephano vs Europe stomp in the finals... Yes...SjoW, Titan, Feast and Nerchio are all pushovers... Not to mention ThorZaIN in the ro8s. Yeah, i mean they can beat people like Stephano, Alive and Polt.... hmm no. On March 20 2012 22:38 bgx wrote: gogo Steph, Dima, Hyun ^^
edit: oh Dima vs Steph... Hard call, dima has lately bad zvt/zvp but his zvz is on steph level easily Sorry, but you're wrong. Oh wait, yes they can. Nerchio lost to Adel last MSIcup, Thorzain is like 2-20 against Polt, stephano and other koreans this year, Sjow is Sjow... yeah, they are totally top korean level player -_- It's sad but Nerchio is losing to litterally everyone these days T;T, I see him being smashed every time I look at a weekly cup recap :/. It was funnier when he had great success in weekly cups He just won the Zotac Monthly Final again, didn't he? Edit: Nah, Go4SC2 Monthly Final, sorry. Yeah, but he lost to the likes of Fraer, TITAN 2-0, 3-0, LaZ (??) 1-2, Adelscott 1-2, Jaxx 1-2, Strelok 2-3, Bly 1-2, Honor 1-2, DIMAGA 0-2, ENOTWHYNOT 1-2, monchi 1-2. Basically in the last month and a half, he lost to A LOT of protoss, including random GM / top master (LaZ, Jaxx, ENOTWHYNOT) and some lower tier protoss (monchi, Honor) which is kinda worrying. Basically he did not lost really badly in ZvT / ZvZ but in ZvP he randomly loses to presumably inferior players. I hope that he'll do better in this match-up soon, the time when Stephano & Nerchio dominated EU online cups seems far away.

hmm bracket seems fixed, oh well it is an EU tournament

Stephano vs. Dimaga first round is le sigh, but with MLG coming up you can't help the brackets. I just don't want to see one of the two best Zergs in the foreigner's scene going out in the first round to a ZvZ, but w/e brackets are brackets.

While they aren't Polt, it certainly shows(hoho) that he is capable of beating koreans. Saying "Sjow is Sjow..." is just an insult to his opponents as much as one to himself.
ThorZaIN has a negative score vs Polt, but he can certainly beat him at times. He can beat Stephano too, and HyuN, YuGiOh, Keen etc. The only one I think will be ridiculously difficult is aLive if he is feeling confident. It's not like we're talking big upsets either here, it's not like say...avilo comes and 2-0's Mvp or something.

I was thinking the same thing. You can't accuse Millenium of favoritism, at the very least. Someone else commented, I believe, that it's structured to avoid problems with lag -- so Koreans play Koreans and Stephano's in Polt's side because they're both on the NA server ATM, although I'm not sure why dima is Stephano's first opponent. His zvz is still very strong.

I don't know how much he practised at the time but he had definatelly played for quite a while. Countrary to popular belief stephano is not god and can't do whatever he likes in an instant. How good he's now have no influence on the past you know.

Nerchio and Stephano used to be mentioned in the same breath and while I was not that attentive to Nerchio, during the course of Stephano's rise I did wonder whether Nerchio was going to do the same since good observers like tree.hugger used to hype him the same way they hyped Stephano and that turned out to be high praise.
Nerchio's time didn't come, but why didn't it come?

Unlike Stephano, Nerchio did not put off his studies and i think this is the reason he is not a mega beast, but just a beast
