they were joking around in a tournament that didnt matter to them (since either coca or byun had code a/s, cant remember) so they were trying to be nice. theyre young. how are they supposed to know that thats interpreted as match fixing. its really not a big deal.

The more dastardly versions of this happen a lot in qualification tournaments and arent really talked about, they were just stupid enough to put it in game. Wow wtf, and the SC2 community just accepts that? If i ever hold a tournament I'm going to screen players so i don't invite ANYONE who has ever fixed a match. because fuck them a lot.

Why is there hype to begin with? Byun looked awful in his first game, did a 1/1/1 on crossfire in his second, and another 1 base all-in in the third game that shouldn't have worked except Parting made 1 mistake.
I know Byun plays better than this. I've been a fan of his for a while now. But to say he looked good in these games is straight lying.

Apparently, ByuN was supposed to go to IEM but was cut because of the match-fixing scandal
Also to clarify. The match-fixing scandal that happened in BW and what ByuN and CoCa did are not even comparable. ByuN and CoCa did not gain any money, it was not pre-meditated, and I feel like it was sort of a spur-of-the-moment, joke decision for both players. ByuN was losing and was like "hey, lose this map for me" and CoCa left the game. I'm sure it was a joke in that ByuN never really expected CoCa to leave, and to CoCa he didn't really care if he won or not.
