Unfortunately ESL TV Icicle had to drop out of casting due to sickness

Josu (y0su) - http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/y0su - is stepping in to replace him, starting one hour later at 20 CET

I was actually able to clear my schedule and will start at 1900 CET with the other casts.

This is actually a really cool idea, I remember following it when it was announced. I hope you guys do it again and it can get some more publicity.

This needed and still needs more hype!!!

Country competitions should always be able to create hype.

Darkforce has been "winging" his games for a few months now. Sc2 certainly has not been his top priority recently and this is clearly visible.

Go Germany!

Why is there no 2v2 and instead a 1v1 ace match?

Looks wrong: http://www.esl.eu/eu/sc2/country_championship/2012_playoffs/match/26001420/

Bet you the players revolted to not let a 2v2 be the decider.

Kudos to the rogue having to put up with that issue :-)

yeah, could have been much better. also, i don't get how you can play 2on2's the whole tournament except for the finals. sure, probably the players wanted it, but then they could have done it the next time they do the tournament. although i don't think it's a given this will be done another time. the idea is great, but it didn't seem to get much attention and what you've mentioned is pretty poor...

It was supposed to be a 2on2, but the teams scheduling made it impossible to actually get it played. I had actually conceded to just abandon the grand final overall with no result (this was after 4 months), but the teams then decided to finish it, and agreed on an ace 1on1 match to just get it done.

Hopefully next year's tournament schedule is more sane, otherwise I don't know if we'll try again!

I think the concept of having a country championship is great.
But if the production is bad and the players are not motivated to play because there is no prize money then there is really no point in organising the whole thing.
I am pretty sure that with the prize money and production of an IEM event this tournament would be a huge deal.

Yeah, you did what you could with the limited amount of resources. I really hope you can convince the people in power to support your project. I think a country championship would be a lot more interesting tournament than an IEM event.
