If there were betting lines out of these matches it's absolutely unacceptable regarding that as well. I doubt Naniwa researched that so it's morally the same decision. Not sure what games you were watching, but what Naniwa did is pretty justified given what just happened to him. Any other protoss would have lost instantly against those two terran builds yet Naniwa managed to make them entertaining, pretty sure only he could have done that. I can completely understand Naniwa getting tilted by constant cheese and what appears to be clear pvt imbalance and just deciding, fuck today, let's go out with a bang. He doesn't deserve any criticism for what happened, these types of actions create storylines, develops character perception and makes starcraft a hell of a lot more interesting. I agree with Comus. It would be also valid to say that GOM doesnt have any respect for the players/fans/ect when they decide to run an eventh with bo1. I wouldn't go that far but it is a pretty curious decision to bring some of the best players in the world together and have such a weird format with terrible variance. I love GOM but they are capable of making terrible decisions for unknown reasons.

That situation is basically what polt vs mma is about...MMA the better macro player with better upgrades and more units while polt is the one with better timings and decisions...

Those unsieged tanks, Polt is really MMA's kryptonite.

Why should he even bother with a completely pointless game? Blame GOM instead for first making this whole shit bo1s and then forcing players to play pointless matches blame gom blame gom blame gom. that how stephano threw his game away after being 0-2 in his groups in dreamhack winter. blame gom????? Stephano wasn't casted buddy; nothing similar here. So it's okay if you don't casted? That's not disrepectful to the viewers, and even if he 8 pooled once, the other game he tried mass lings and won I think. Twice, and it's disrespectful to the competition. Viewers are so self-important.
There is a chance to win with a 8 pool, naniwa could have just done a simple 4 gate and lose with that, i would not complain cause theres a chance to win - probe rushing is a different story ( would been fine with 12 drone rush zvp though.. ) - at least for me.

What are those people doing on a site that celebrates Starcraft 2 as a spectator sport? Got more entertainment out of that game than most of the other games at Blizzard cup. Idra did the same against Jinro on Jungle Basin.

A few pages back someone actually said they hope it's the end of his Starcraft career.. like seriously?
how the fuck is this not disrespectful. The fans and organizers expect him to play his best for our entertainment, and we paid him greatly for it, and only to have him throw that away for the rest of us.
There would be a shitstorm if this happened in any sport. Imagine an entire team just stood there after being 30 points behind half game, that team would be decapitated and banned for rest of their lives

Seriously people, get a grip, it's such an insignificant thing. So was Coca vs Byun. Koreans take throwing matches extremely seriously. Doing it in a special GOM tourny no less is gonna piss a hell of a lot of people off.
Difference is Coca spoke about throwing it with Byun and was going to win. This was a minute into the game, in a Bo1. Worker Rush is valid cheese.

I thought it was pretty funny actually. More entertaining than some half-assed standard game for sure. That's as close to match-fixing as it gets. Match-fixing in a game that doesn't mean anything? riiight.... There are betting sites out there that allow real-money bets on SC2 games.

What strickes me the most is that Nani rages about how people see and bitch about him... And then threw a game in 45 seconds just because he was down 3 - 0 and wanted to leave.
The thing is, this tournament was supposed to be the most epic in terms of players and games because they are all in their best gaming shape... Nani I'm sorry you lost your three first games, but how can you disappoint all the viewers, especially the ones who were cheering for you just because you were so pissed ?
Yesterday HerO didn't play well, he did apologies to his fans, HuK did this too already. When I see them like that, it makes me feel bad because they feel that they owe us something, and they don't, I'm not bitching about them when they lose because I know how it feels. but Nani isn't even trying, he rages about the haters, and then gives them a reason.
I know this is unorganized but that how my brain is at the moment, so I guess it's okay

I'm sure Quantic's sponsors are thrilled that Naniwa, in the most hyped match of the day, refused to play and left the game within a minute when there were thousands of people watching.

what? there have been some weak games but as a whole this has been a pretty good tournament so far... mma vs leenock was incredible, mvp's stomping of stephano was great, too

How can you find it understandable ? Don't you realize how disrespectful it is towards the viewers, the sponsors (imagine if they tuned in during that game), the casters etc ... ? Just explain to me, I can't understand i would say the sponser must be pretty glad now, seeing how much people are talking about their tourney.
lol no. theres good press and theres bad press. Its not just about generating conversation, for example, If company A is trying to sell product A, they want positive/neutral traffic, not bad traffic. So if you have 10 million people taking shit about your product, you can bet your ass that that's a bad thing.

Personally i found nani-nestea more interesting than both his games against the stupid 1base all in terrans.

Polts only advantage seems to be his nearly double marine production.

But that's basically what the match was...
