On November 13 2011 22:45 Antoine wrote: colagirl adds onto those 2 spine crawlers with 10 more between the main and 3rd, and runs her maxed roach army into aphrodite's 3rd but well positioned tanks repel her with minimal damage. a few hellions run up to colagirl's 4th but here are no drones or units of any sort there to do damage to, and the entire zerg army swarms over to take them out. corruptors now out ofr colagirl as well, but the spire is researching air attack instead of morphing. aphrodite maxes and moves out with so many mech units and scvs. colagirl can't find a good place to engag and retreats off the center plateau. this roach army is in big trouble against the mech army and she only has enough banked to trade once. now running around her entire army but aphrodite is in such astrong position in the center of the map with all her sieged tanks. colagirl running corruptors in and out to scout but they dont pcik off th ebanshee. now colagirl moves in and takes out all the hellions, but the naks siege while they'redoing that and instantly vaporize the roaches. colagirl loses her 4th to the mech army but has snuck expos in the top right main and nat. aphrodite remaxes her mech with tanks and thors instead of hellions mostly this time. colagirl has a bunch of ultras and roaches but they stream in piecemeal instead of all at one time. the ultras get good engagement on the front line of tanks but the tank spread is so fantastic for aphrodite. colagirl down to 120 food against 180 and as reinforcements ttream in the same zerg that looked so invincible just 30 minutes ago is on her back feet. colagirl has ultras trapped in her main due to bad simcity a, losing all of her attempted muta switch, retreats back to the main but the inexorable march of aphrodie's mech army eventually forces the gg. aphrodite takes the series and advances to the grand finals! | ||

But seriously, big upset I think, Colagirl looked so good yesterday while Aphrodite looked a bit shaky, barely making it through in the tiebreak. She's the only person I was familiar with before the tournament, though, so I've kinda been cheering for her, glad to see her make the finals :-) Go Korea! :-p | ||

She's looked pretty good in most of the games I've seen from her macro and composition-wise, it's just that at times her decision making breaks down and she loses from positions she should have won from. I expected Colagirl to win this but she just didn't seem to handle mech particularly well in the end. | ||

 Flo at 12 in red, and SsQ at 2 in blue on metalopolis, so close air. builds diverge as flo adds a techlab right away for reaper while ssq goes for a marine then factory, taking her 2nd gas. ssq has predicted the reaper and has marines well spread to eliminate it as it jumps up, and flo moves into smi and a cc with a 2nd rax while ssq has a starport building, a reactor and techlab surely to be swapped soon. a hellion pokes up for ssq but 3 marines chase it away as ssq mstarts a banshee and flo spreads depots around her base. with 2 ocs and stim, flo should do well against banshees and ssq starts siege tech. | ||
