Also, ASUS ROG PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PAY OUT PRIZE MONEY QUICKLY AFTER EVENT IS OVER. Thank you.
Afaik the tournament is run by Peliliiga, the same company that hosts the Assembly pro gaming competitions. My TF2 team won money from 4 of their events and they've always paid it either with cash at the event or a few days after with bank transfer. So worry not.

Except the finals...

I really enjoy these "small" (like 8-16 players) invitationals. Allways good/entertaining players, and you get to see all the games, thus gaining more of a "feel" for the tournaments as a whole imo! Will tune in for sure.

easy win for Stepha... wait, Stephano not invited ?? WTF ! At least i really enjoy elfi is invited. He is one of the few who has made a name by himself and he is rewarded now by this invite (in his country it's a minimum). But i'm so borred to ALWAYS see the same names in invitationnals... They just check who has the biggest fanclub and "let's go" !

first, do you know - for a fact - that stephano was not invited or declined? (same for probably many korean pros).
An 8 player tournament is so small that several high profile players would not be able to attend (either because they were unable or didn't receive invites). There will always be a debate over who's best / top 3 / 8 / 10 etc. I agree that with his recent success it would be great to see stephano in more tournaments, however, I'm super excited for the potential of the players attending!

In what way is that a bad thing? An invitational is just what it sounds like. The organizers can invite whoever they want. And if they want to attract the biggest amount of viewers for their sponsors, why wouldnt they pick the players with the biggest fan clubs?

Seems like we will have EG finals. I think only HuK, elfi, Select and Dimaga can beat Idra and they are on the other side of the bracket. White-ra could but I do not see him beating two zergs in a row.
|
Idra should reach the finals I think. He has great records against sjow, ret and white-ra. Expect Huk or Select to wait for him.

Hnnggggg such great games to be played. REALLY looking forward to watching DIMAGA vs SeleCT and White-Ra vs Ret.

On November 01 2011 20:41 LeviathanDK wrote: i really dont get why they refuse to make double elimination brackets, it makes everything so much more fun I totally disagree. As long as the rounds are bo5 or higher I think the single elimination system is much more exciting. It's when you have bo1 or bo3s where I feel double elimination is a better choice. Personally I prefer group play into single elimination bracket for larger tournaments. (If the group play rules are sane)

|
Single elimination and Bo5? Fuck yeah! Bo5 is so much better than Bo3 in my opinion.
The Final will be Huk vs Idra, Huk takes it 4-2.

I think people are REALLY underestimating Sjow. Idra has been really showing well lately but don't forget that Sjow has been posting results in other places as well. Also, Sjow beat Idra in their last encounter. I ultimately think that Idra can eek out the win but I expect it to be at least 3-1 or 3-2 and not a cakewalk 3-0 like most people are saying.

Definitely a Huk vs Idra final!
Can't wait

Huk/Select vs Idra in finals....Not too many top-tier players here.

Elfi surely has his work cut out for him, but his pvp is one of the best in europe.

Looks like a great event, and the times work well for a late night of drinking and watching SC2 in Australia.
