Have you used the internet in Australia, I can't think of a non enterprise level provider capable of running the stream let alone everything else involved.

I am Australian. I'm sure they can cut some sort of deal with a local provider to give them the speed necessary to host the event.

Our major problems are geographical sparcity and lack of corporate interest. Unfortunately, the GFC hit Australia quite hard too and some of our larger tech shows that were coupled with gaming tournament have become smaller, corporate-only affairs. That being said, we've had intel, asus, samsung and a lot of other companies over the year sponsor some pretty big tournaments. I think if SC2 can continue to grow locally we could see this again as well.

Events have been hosted before that were sponsored by Bigpond who provided FTTN to the event. There's no reason a tournament of this size couldn't be held in Australia with proper streaming etc. The problem is one of interest and expense.
